Beetle Spin CATCHES EVERYTHING

- Fishing with a beetle spin is always a good time. On this fishing adventure, I wanted to catch everything in the swamp lake. When I say everything, I mean the bluegill, pumpkinseed, black crappie, and the largemouth bass. The beetle spin is a great multi-species lure, especially my favorite size 1/16 ounce. I bought this pumpkinseed yellow and orange off the interwebs. Let's see what bites when I went fishing with it.

Pumpkin seed are prolly my favorite to catch and admire. Love those colors.
I think they look so cool, too!
I’m on a small lake in Northwestern Wisconsin. I’m a self taught fisherman. Every open water season I pick one method of lure to learn to fish and master it the best I can. This year it’s the Beetle Spin. Hands Down the most effective lure ever. I love catching Pumpkin Seeds over Bluegill because they are more aggressive and give a better fight size for size. I think over the winter I will develop a tackle box exclusive to Beetle Spins Different colors, shapes and sizes of spinners, Different sizes of the safety pin size & Jig head weights .
Outside of the Plastic Worm and a GT360 search bait different sizes of Beetle Spin’s are absolutely the most effective lure bar none in my 5 tackle boxes. Everything else is just taking up space.
I’ve caught a 23” LM Bass fishing for Crappie on a Beetle Spin. Also a 29” Pike that totally destroyed a 1/8th ounce Beetle Spin. But I got it in the boat. As I loose other lures while fishing I don’t feel the need to replace them. That is how high my confidence is with any variation of Beetle Spin I buy or create by my own imagination.
When I feel like slaying Pike I use a 1/4 oz or heavier Beetle Spin with a Mr. Twister Twin Tail Grub in Yellow. I call it a Gitzum because it Gets Them. 😀
I love the setup you have for pike! I’ll have to try that!
My dad and i fished a lot in years past. I used all the newest lures i found at cabelas thinking the bigger flashier lures would catch more fish. My dad used a beetle spin with a twister tail. Let's just say he outfished me pretty bad..... pike, bass, walleyes, bluegill, Perch crappie. Once i used the simple lures i always caught way more fish!
Great lure simple and effective..like a daredevil
I like that Quantum medium action spinning rod you’ve got, which is actually a medium light compared to most other rods. It’s really versatile and you can see I t’s well suited for panfishing, but still has the backbone to handle bigger fish. I’ve caught a couple 2 pound largemouth with my original one.
I say original because I learned something about current dynamics when a kayak is swept against a log in a big river and I capsized. I lost a lot of my gear, including that Quantum rod and a St. Croix Premiere rod as well. The next week I went out and bought another Quantum rod for $30. I never replaced the St. Croix, which just wasn’t worth five times the cost of the Quantum.
Well, truth be told, I did replace my 6 foot medium St. Croix Premier but it was with another Quantum, a 6 foot medium-heavy that was very similar in weight, diameter and action to my medium powered St. Croix. The biggest difference between the St. Croix and its much cheaper replacement is that I don’t have to constantly fiddle with tightening the real seat on the Quantum like I did with the St. Croix. When I called St. Croix customer service about it they denied ever hearing of such an issue before and weren’t helpful.
Nice video - I just subscribed. Where in Wisconsin is this lake?
Tamarack Lake
green sunfish love the beetle with white body and red spot.
I've caught a 6in female punkinseed they are beautiful fish amazing patterns
Just started watching your channel and I’m loving it keep up the good work
Thanks! I've been doing this for some time, so there's plenty of different fishing adventures to check out!
I seen these beetle spins a lot at Dick's sporting goods stores, Walmart, Cabela's and Bass pro shops too. I have never used them before because of the species that I fish for, I don't think trout will go after them. Still looks like a great little jigs or lure to use for fishing. Nicely well done with these great catches.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’m not sure about trout with them either. I’ve never tried them for trout
Brookies will hit em with a white, pink or orange plastic on the jig, not like every cast lol,but i have tried them specifically for brookies
This was a treat to watch thanks for sharing
Thanks! That was a fun fishing trip. I still swear by the beetle spin. It's a great lure.
Nice 11 to 1 ratio of mentioning bluegill to catching a bluegill! But at least you caught one, I give you credit for that!
I was determined. I couldn't believe it took me that long. Usually, that's the first thing I catch.
Neat lure, I never fished one before as we don’t really panfish up here in western Canada, looks like it catches almost anything though, I wonder if anyone ever caught a trout on one? 😂 thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I’ve never tried it for trout fishing. I should do that.
@@tiefsa I seen a short video of someone catching 4 trout on a hour with one. So it looks like it works. I’m definitely going to try. Haha
Nice rig
The pike strike was neat!
That boatside strike was cool!
The pumpkin seed and bluegill are basically first cousins. Both sunfish.
Explains why its been around for so long!
True!
Sweet what state is that ?
