I am a dealer of both Asian and Berger paints for the past 10 years. The margin in this business is very low, from 5% to 7%. The investment you have to make is huge. And there are non earning assets in which you have to invest like the tinting machine. And whenever you give an estimate to a customer there are plenty of people who would reduce the margin to even 3% and supply the goods, just to get the order. There is a huge competition. And on top of that you have to pay commissions to painters. In short this is a high investment, low margin, high on headache, thankless business. You can just survive and be a dealer all your life. You can't grow beyond that. The company earns better profits, not the dealers.

The secret to succeed in this business is you need to have really good sales , this in turn will help you to get benefits by companies schemes ( Again this comes with a risk , the schemes given by companies are sometimes irrelevant and if you go behind schemes u need to stock up materials just in order get additional benefit of 2-5% )
Exactly My Point . I'm Also A Dealer And I'm Pretty Sure Every Dealer Will Agree With Me, No One I Repeat No One Will Say We Have 15-20% Margin In Our Business. It's Approx 7-8% And That Too When You Maintain Every Single Range. And Against That We Have To Hire Few Great Shop Boy's And So Much Capital.
1st coat single coat external primer and at lower side where damping chances in future use damp 2k then 2 coat putty then damp sheet 40 %water with roller only then apex ultima 2 coat 40%water with roller do not use brush .

Chotu Kumar ji... maine apne 3 BHK ke liye Berger Easy Clean kaa 8 colours choose kiye hai, jiska MRP around 430 to 465 hai. Colour mixing ke liye paint shop around 175 to 225 rupees/L bata raha hai, jo total amount around 580 to 670/L padega bata raha hai. Mai to confused huu... kahi Berger paints shop mujhse bahot jada paisa charge to nahi karr raha hai....

Paint business is very worst business margin is 5 to 7% and people thinks that there is huge profit in this business you have to pay huge commission to the painters. And you have to give credit to the customers. Customers gives material amount about minimum 7 to 12 months. And a normal thinking is that in paints business there is huge margin.
