I've seen videos of breeders pulling the baby snakes out of the egg. I'm glad Emily specifically said to let them leave on their own. This is one of the things that set her and Ed apart. They really show respect to these animals.

That "baby smell" you talk about is the smell of amniotic fluid. Our brains are wired to like that smell, so we grow attached to the babies and want to protect them. This is why so many people enjoy the smell of baby animals.
Baby smell isn’t caused by amniotic fluid (although it does have a distinctive smell) and we certainly wouldn’t have that reaction to a non-primate baby smell. If that were the case you would have that reaction every time you cracked open a chicken egg. In this case it’s most likely a learned association, which are especially strong with smell and emotion. She likes baby snakes, therefore she likes how they smell.
There's an interesting smell when cats and dogs give birth too. It's not a "bad" smell, but it's unlike anything you've ever smelled before. Although interestingly I'm not a fan of the smell of freshly hatched bird eggs.

It probably just falls into their substrate. For example, puppies lose their baby teeth like humans do, so I assume that the process would be similar for most other animals. Of course, there is always the possibility of them swallowing them. I've heard of people accidentally swallowing teeth before, so it is possible.

I have to say I started watching her videos and I've learned so much. To the point that I felt comfortable with getting my first snake a cute male ball python. I've had him for 3 years now and he was a baby when I got him. I love him to pieces. So Emily thank you for supplying me with the knowledge of caring for a snake. Hatching videos are my favorite all around. I'm extra happy when you start talking about genetics though, I've honestly learned so much about snake genetics from watching your videos. XD I also love seeing what happens in all your projects when you're trying to prove things out.

Maybe she filmed that part before the twin egg clutch hatched.
sometimes she releases her videos out of order and edits them out of order so this could of been before that clutch

Hatching videos are my favorite all around. I'm extra happy when you start talking about genetics though, I've honestly learned so much about snake genetics from watching your videos. XD I also love seeing what happens in all your projects when you're trying to prove things out.

I love how the one at 17:32 gives the impression of being so expressive and curious when offered food. And it's face markings look like a mask or a unibrow.
