When I start my engine I get some compressions but just as it want to run I hear a spinning sound, like the gears inside the startmotor lose grip. Any ideas what could be the cause? I think the hook where my solonoid hooks in to the start motor is worn out or the gears itself, what do you think?

Good day sir, i will try what u showed us in the first n here video on step by step diagnose the situation. my problem may be solve by your video. I charge up my battery just in case. Beside the battery cable for both terminals are good. There are 2 wires, which i now know 1 of them goes to the starter relay and they are both ended at the positive terminal. I combined and use a 50cm length #8 thhn wire to extended them and used soldering lead at lead a bit not fully soldered. I hope u can help further if i m not successful. Thank you.

Possible, the lever or the gear. Only way to find out is to bring the starter down.
I am struggling with changing my 2008 4x4 triton starter motor due to the location, is anyone have a simple way to do it please

normal. smoke was by reason of poor connection between the battery terminal and the body of the starter.
Originally, my solenoid starter is SS-1529 9116. Is it okay if I use SS-1529 9Y30 for my Mitsubishi Adventure 4D56 Diesel Engine?
as long as it fits, as long as the lever mechanism is the same, as long as it is rated 12v.
