    Excellent review on this machine. I’ve just ordered myself one. Wanted to ask about the notch settings. I live in the UK London & there’s no farms around here, just parks mostly with lots of trash. What notch setting would you recommend so I can cancel out all the noise? I’m a coin hunger mostly so that’s what I’d be after most when using this machine. Thanks again👍🏼

    • @jaymoge

      What I would do is hunt for a while with nothing notched out. After you learn what is what for signal you could start notching out what you do not want to hear. I don't notch out anything because I've dug jewelry that sounds like foil, gum wrappers, ring pulls and can tabs, all between 40-70 so it's hard for me to say.

    Just to clarify the volume:
    1-9 is volume control for both high and low tones
    10 is max volume high tone and no low tone
    11-19 adjusts low tone only with high tone staying at max
    20 is max low and high tone
    Hope this helps clear things up

    Is the G2 a better detector than the T2? I have the T2+ & love it so just checking which is supposed to be better? I much prefer the setup on my T2+ but still want to know which is supposed to be better.I usually notch out Iron because I am usually looking for Coins & Jewelry but I do sometimes search for Relics then I hunt in All Metal mode with no discrimination.Thanks much.

    • @jaymoge
      @jaymoge  5 років тому +3

      Great question. I've never used the T2 but know folks who do and swear by it. Same goes for the G2 and plus. If I'm making an educated guess I'd say they're dead even but still different. They operate at different frequencies so what they "see" in different spectrums and that can be good or bad depending on your conditions. If that makes sense???

    Excellent tips on using this machine! Just curious. I know this thing hits low conductors well because of it's higher freq. But how does it do on deep silver? I'm not much of a relic hunter but do hit the parks & old house sites lookin for silver. I luv the features on this machine but unsure if it would have the depth I need.

    • @jaymoge
      @jaymoge  5 років тому +3

      It's fantastic on high signals too, head to head with an AT Pro 3 years ago and my Fisher (same machine/freq) hit harder and more accurately on clad and coppers. Super stable too. A friend had the XP Deus and hit on a deeeeep silver 2 reale that was seriously 14 inches down and my Fisher got a tiny squeak.

    A great live review.I saw a nugget hunter get a weird signal like you got.He used a big old minelab,tones only detector.The tones sounded off a solid iron signal,but it didn't sound right to him so he dug it.Turned out to be a 16oz gold nugget! He called it a "Reverse Signal". Happy Holidays Eric

    I swing a Whites Eagle 2 sl. This machine was made in 1992. I've considered a new detector but continually out-hunt my friends with their new technology. It is a deep sliver magnet! The pinpoint and VDI are dead on. I pulled an 1854 Seated Quarter at 10 inches in a place where my huntin bros have hit many times. I would like an AT pro for water. Do you have an opinion on AT pro vs AT gold? HH, love the vids and good luck this year - Willie

      I've tried the AT Gold and like it very much, never tried the pro but I know lots of people love them. I personally like the bigger VDI, and I'm used to the language of MG fisher and this G2+.

    Damn fine video about a damn fine 19 kHz FTP MD. Almost 7 years in production now, yet still pulling out tiny silver hammered coins for me amongst terribly iron nail infested ground. Hopefully FTP up-date the platform to make it fully waterproof, powered by a Lithium ion, on-board, rechargeable battery, on a light-weight collapsible carbon fibre 'spine', with new style stem locks, and a F75 styley arm cup, that can be bent to fit. Not much of an ask FT.

I realize that detectors are just the same as cars that one you start with a manufacturer you tend to stay with it. Kind a like Ford vs Chevy. Love the camo Santa hat.
