Honestly idk how you guys in Australia can fund this hobby, it's ridiculous. It's beyond me how GW even makes money there
The prices are fucked but our wages are higher here. Dropping $800 on a new army isn't too bad if this is your one and only hobby. The real issue is the kids have been completely priced out so there is no fresh generation of players coming through. It isn't sustainable to have a hobby scene like that as eventually your player base dies out and no one is there to pick up the new mantle.
Would be good to hear your thoughts on the Warhammer The Old World announcement, I know the head of Forge World is leading the team that has started the project and it's a few good 3 or so years away but I'm a little wary of this, e.g. will the miniatures be at the same scale as old Warhammer Fantasy Battle / Age of Sigmar, will this new game if it's manly Forge World driven take resources away from WH30K / Horus Heresy ? etc etc

Because of gw getting more scummy and expensive than ever, Ive been in the process to moving towards playing infinity (especially with the new Kickstarter for defiance) and got the 2 player starter coming soon (two metal teams, terrain, dice, templates, tokens, and rules, all for the same price as a start collecting)... This is all after painting one of their models and seeing the quality easily rivals GW in their sculpt and production imo... looking forwards to playing it!

Eh we want to love infinity in our area but we just cant infinity has just the worst rulebook in the history of rulebooks and the local meta is killing the game

Hey Macca could you please do a video on Land raiders, as I and I’m sure many are unsure how good LR’s are. I’ve had one person say there good and another say their not worth it.
I would say most people say there not good because they're comparing them to a spartan. But for the cost of a spartan, you can get 2 land raiders. Yes it means not being able to transport a big squad but sinking points into 1 target as opposed to 2 for me rules out the spartan. Pretty much everyone disagrees with me but I think the land raiders are a good option if you need to protect some infantry as well as take a bit more anti tank firepower
$85 for one sprue of mono-pose no option models.... holy shit.. down with GW!

Have to agree with the multipurpose thing there. Trying to get into 30k but I do play 40k and all my vehicles have at least 1 alternate use. My flyers have Anti air with anti vehicle or anti infantry, my Baal Predator has 2 heavy flamers and the twinlinked assault cannon and I always put an anti infantry and anti armor option in each of my tactical marine squads. So far it's just the thought of dealing with resin right now that has stayed my hand from 30k.

Prices for all warhammer models are crazy these days compared to the 90s the average price of 5 to 10 man squad would be £5 to £30, and production costs are probably a lot less now than in the 90s
So I was gonna do Word Bearers for 30k but when Shadowspear hit I decided to do 40k Word Bearers so am getting rid of my Word Bearers. Now going to collect Night Lords for Horus Heresy I believe that GW missed the buck on doing HH as the mainstream I think that the main fear was that the emphisis would be taken away from FW which is their premium bespoke site every which way we look at it.

Great to hear from down under, you pay alot more then we do for non-forgeworld games workshop. Foe US we pay about the same costs for forge world, but about half as much as you for normal games workshop models.
The set of two Space Marine Heroes (Shown at the start of the video) are available in the Warhammer 40,000 Conquest magazine - and in the UK it will cost you £7.99 for the two minis ... Bargain!!!! Not many issues left granted, but worth a Google

The SOBs set their prices based on performance/points cost in the game then design the game to promote the most expensive units. That's why I moved to other games like Battletech

Almost 90% of my Horus heresy was from buy swap sell pages.
Saved more money building my armies doing so and it was so worth it.

It would have been more helpful if he gave a good analysis of basic units that are common to each legion and how they may play. He did some of this, but this falls more into the intermediate play advice over the stated how to start. At the end he even stated, pick units that complement what you have already got. What do I need to use to start playing HH? Not a bad video, just mislabeled for the content offered.
Not really mislabeled considering I have a video on every single legion and faction within 30k, in fact, I compiled every single thing into one playlist on the channel so you can open it and find what you're after.

I'd like if GW sold tactical squads with the option of making them in Horus heresy armor.

Cheapest way to start... buy a Resin 3D printer and you get all the lovely models nearly for free.
How safe is it? Because the Resin printer tech is relatively new, i do not know if you can get lung cancer from like 3-4 years.
