Fort Rouge Yard

One of the rare spots to get good shooting spots in our fair city is the Fort Rouge Yard or what is left of it. Much of this yard has been cut back over the years as CN has cut its operations back. At one time this was a very busy place in the early days 50,60,s now is a storage spot and staging area for west bounds to fuel up. Via's Wpg shop is located here also at the opposite end from this spot

Ugly apartment block in the background, looks like Eastern Europe from Soviet era. What are the high framed wagons behind the loco's James? Quite a few of them in the consist. Looks like some track work going to take place in the background too, good clip.

Yea those are the first of many apartments being built back there. on land reclaimed from the yard. Those cars are Lumbar Racks for carrying lumber. Thanks Dave for looking in Have a great weekend
