Biggest appeal of your uploads is that it doesn’t appear that you are trying to conform to a UA-cam expectation - it feels like you’re just filming what you would be doing anyway and I hope you can find a way to keep that vibe. Loving your progress mate, hope to see it all work out for you - between you and Foresty Forest for my current top spot 😊
Sat on the edge of my chair mesmerized by the tree burning! Incredible! Dude you gotta post more videos more often, only one every 2 weeks is killing me! 🙂And if you keep it real like all of your videos so far, I can see your channel taking off!!
Your life decision at the moment is the envy of many people who wish they had what you have, cherish it even the hard work that comes with it, live your best life, love the videos please keep them coming 🙏👍
You quickly got to 13.5K subscribers in a small amount of time. You’ll get there! Those who have 143k make a decent income so you’ll be there before you know it!
I definitely think you could become youtube rich. Your videos are awesome and the potential is there for this thing to blow up. You need to put out videos more frequently and watch the channel grow as you build your little kingdom in the remote wilderness!!!
the early pioneers likely wondered what the hell they were doing as well. but look what came of them not giving up..;o) keep making videos .. you will get financially self sufficient from youtube.. your content is top notch.. unpretentious and true adventure. you have the spirit of the pioneers. we need to see way more of that. love your dog..she sure missed you.
Looks like there are video about breaking trail with your snowmobile and ones on how to get it unstuck. Probably be worth watching. Also they make light weight aluminum packable snow shovels.
Oh man, the ending was so adorable! I’m glad your struggles weren’t too bad this time. You’re also amassing quite the toy collection, boat, ATV and now a snow mobile and you still gotta hike in! It sure is a beautiful area, so quiet and so remote, yeah, what a great purchase! Thanks again, enjoyed that!
@@GeraldBeagan-ee6se yes very true I’ve seen it happen in my home town area…the roots of a lightening hit tree started a peat bog on fire , burned for years
Hey man I live a couple hours south of where your at from that i can tell an I love watching your videos! really rooting for you on the UA-cam fame. keep up the hard work on carving out your little piece of paradise
A good tip when leaving the cabin. Leave the ovens stacked ready to be lit (at least in winter). You never know what condition you or somebody in a survival situation reach the cabin in. Imagine having to make kindling after falling in the river with those waders. But anyways. Truly fascinating content. Love it!
Glad you add to your story this winter. I enjoy your videos, so relaxing to watch. Anyway, I held my breath watching you try to get to your cabin with the snow machine. I was rooting for you to make it. Getting to the cabin seems to be quite an ordeal. I was hoping it would work because the more you go over the trail the easier the next time will be. Maybe someday the car will make to the cabin. Till next time enjoy your beautiful friend!
I'm not really a snow-loving person myself but for some reason, I very much enjoy your videos! Maybe it's the isolation and how you have to plan for every trip. I keep wishing that you could visit your cabin more often! Nice dog :)
Brother you put a capital D in determination , you just roll with the punches love the video and I hope you become UA-cam famous because you put out good stuff keep on keeping on
Winter amongst the trees is beautiful! I remember trekking through the bush on snowshoes, or cross-country skies in my youth. Haven't done it in decades but your latest video brought back a ton of fond memories! Thanks for posting these videos and I encourage you to keep doing it, hopefully enough people will see them eventually so you can get a really huge following and maybe make some good money from them. Your videos are certainly worthy of that!
You've laid foundation for the primary upcoming journey well, both consciously and subconsciously. You may well find that the "bad decisions" are in fact well-planned (though camouflaged) rail-jumpers. I liked the creative flair-the hint of what's to come. This episode reinforced the reality of the journey chosen, the necessity to flow with conditions, weather the pitfalls, and glow in the rush of self-determination ahead. This is magnetic to viewers.... brace yerself, Sheila.
I have been watching since you started. What I do love is you learn and try and adapt and eventually get the task done. Over the time your skills got better but not just that your video skill are getting better each time. I have truly enjoyed your journey so far and thanks for the effort taking us along. As does everyone, we all can't wait for your next video. Thanks
I HAVE LEARNED THE HARD WAY....ANY TIME YOU LEAVE SOMETHING HIDDEN AND INTEND TO RETURN AND RETRIEVE IT, DONT ASSUME YOU WILL RECALL EXACTLY WHERE YOU....HID IT....YOUR PERSPECTIVE WILL BE DIFFERENT, PRODUCING A VERY DIFFERENT LOOKING AREA....TIE A STRING, OR LEAVE A ROCK ON THE TRAIL OR MAKE A CROSS WITH TWO LIMBS...I TOO HVE MISPLACED ITEMS I HID IN THE OUTDOORS.
I would consider that, whatever you buy mechanical for out there, to be something you can fix on the fly or temporarily…because nothing is close by re: electronic failures…lol. Love what you’re doing man!
Wonderful meeting your lila girl. Each of your outings is both thrilling and edge of your seat. Thank you for sharing the building ofyour dreams and also showing some of the innate hardships and setbacks. If this was easy more people would try what you are doing. Keep it up.
Great video. Looks like you had fun. I bet that dog would love it out there. You can't beat a good dog. Always happy to see you and doesn't hold grudges.
Watching from the start. Great content. It is the questionable life decisions that make it all the more real and interesting. Can relate to questioning, having had the access track to my cabin up a mountain washed out completely, yet pushing on for more than a decade with various other challenges along the way, but still loving it, still being on my land, still working on projects. You have a fan watching from an off grid cabin on a mountain in Greece 😊
Love your vlogs look forward to more ….from an Aussie in a high rise apartment who loves watching outdoor adventures, especially in the snow and wilderness. 😊
Great Video! You always want to un stuck your machine and pre-tramp down the area you plan to exit from upon your return to your machine. It could snow 3 more feet or you could have limited mobility due to any injury sustained from a knife cut, log splitting or muscle strains. You already knew you had a place to stay and be warm on your further trip in to cabin and cook food and find solace! Love your tenacity for doing as you wish! If you could have drilled or cut a notch or hole 6-8 above where you lit the fire you would have had one hell of a rocket stove tree fire, but it was still enjoyable to me! Thanks!
The walk to the cabin after leaving the snowmobile is beautiful, stunning. It must be brutal til you get used to it but so worth it. Thank you for the great videos. Stay safe and God bless
You need a lovely big loyal puppy , a big gentle giant that will keep you warm , maybe a newfie or a mountain dog of some kind , just a lovely big lump of cuddles and happiness
For next winter, you might want to think about getting larger snowshoes. Weigh yourself and your pack and then get the right size shoes. From the looks of things you've got ones that are good for you, but not you and a pack. By then though I think you're going to have a much easier time if you intend on spending a bit of time cutting trails, etc. By the way, I have that exact stove. I needed to extend the chimney pipe for my hot tent. Turns out the pipe is the same diameter as car exhaust pipe. Canadian Tire for the win.
When you have lots of snow in your area , trappers always have a large pair of snowshoes and one very sharp long handle axe . Once the trail is semi packed , that Scandic machine will follow the trail . I always widen the trail with the machine to make springtime travel easier when the trail is very soft
Can't say that I have ever seen someone do this with a dead tree trunk. Good thing there is lots of snow around and no worries of the fire spreading. Looks almost like a blast furnace at times. Wow!
Yes pretty good deal but hard breaking trail in that much power when you have to cut as you go, luck you saved your porch ! That's a pretty big candle :)
Greetings from New Zealand mate...Keep up being your hard-working stubborn self. Not many of us can do what you are doing. I certainly enjoy your videos and hopping you get you tube rich at some point.
Greetings from S.W. Ontario where we do not have the wilderness to enjoy. Just subscribed earlier today when our son mentioned you. We wish you success in your venture!
Awesome videos and solid effort out there! One thing that was told to me and always stuck was to have you vehicle parked in the direction to get out incase your injured or an emergency. Keep it up, thanks Shawn!
You could take your shovel or something and clear the snow off that lean-to tarp…. I was thinking something should be done about that mess since your other video. The flames leaping out of the trunk remind me of something trying to escape, while the glow reminds me of a portal to another place….
Love the winter adventure vids! Something about snow touches my soul. Even as a flatlander snowmobiler watching- I think if you had a mountain sled, you could make it to your cabin down your rough cut road. Hope you get to experience more winter adventure at your cabin!
From South Africa, I'm loving the videos. Wish they were longer & maybe 2 videos a week. I'm transfixed by the beauty of the wilderness & it's my dream lifestyle. Keep on trucking Shawn & you will be the best YT Channel. I seriously hope you make money off the videos. 🌍💌🔥
Rooting for you to earn a living on UA-cam, so we can get more videos like this often !
If UA-cam would make the hard working people UA-cam rich then you should be one of the rich ones. Great video
I haven't been getting notifications of your videos. Thanks UA-cam.

Excellent channel, enjoy the lack of bullshit

You make awesome videos man ,don't give up that on that dream to live from youtube yet!
That really sucks to get your snow machine stuck. Better times coming for you after the melt! Looking forward to your next cabin build.

Brother I’m holding my breath for starting a forest fire wow I can heave a sigh of relief
Me, too. That was stressful AF!
That might burn all winter in the roots and take out the forest in the summer. Think harder next time

Shawn, I’ve heard of people in emergency situations setting fire to trees…no worries in winter with all that snow around.. good one!
So much snow, what a difference from last time. Enjoying the videos!
Hope your channel grows into millions subscribers.
I think I just found my new favorite UA-cam channel. The editing, the music, the scenery, the beauty, all of it. Keep doing more of this. Nice work!
Molson Canadian box always comes in handy
Glad you didn't give up buddy. You've got a potential masterpiece of film- making here.

That burning gives new meaning to a long fire 😊
Till he sets the whole forest on fire. The wind could carry sparks to other nearby trees.

That tree fire was stunning.
I used to have a pair of big beaver tail snowshoes. Took some getting used to but man, they barely sunk into the snow at all.
