Everyone concreting everything in Thailand contribute to the land not being able to absorb rain but you got to do what you got to do. Have you looking at emergency flood gates? You don't have too many doors that you need to cover. Of course it might not work if you sewage/graywater back flows back into the house during a flood.
Absolutely. Everyone blindly accepts the bs narrative of climate change from these world governing bodies, but ignores the fact that their own city and towns are concrete jungles unable to absorb water.
The mesh should be in the middle of the concrete, not pushed down on the bottom...... thats what it looked like they did in the video. Mesh at the bottom will do very little if anything to prevent cracks in the concrete.
Yes, there will so much work after any house has been flooded. The difference is, some will have a budget for repair, while some can't afford for any repair but cleaning the house is necessary. Talking from real life experience.
Hey I think that Beger cool paint is for outside the house to keep it cool if I’m not mistaken. Your home is like hours in Mae Hia except we didn’t get flooded, thank the gods. I wonder, with a wall practically all the way around the property, there’s gotta be a way to block the water at the entrance. I’m inspired by your positive attitude, mate!
Dear Jon, please a wall-mounted fan on the location of the other airco connection in the living room. You won’t regret it and the power is already there.
Thanks so much for the update Jon. I like your choice in doing paint rather than wallpaper. It looks really good. Are you considering putting any turf over the cement areas or just leave it as is?
Skittles wants to know why you don't speak Thai, that's why he won't speak to you. lol Sorry, I kid, I kid, just giving you a bit of a hard time (as I know your wife asks you this). Seriously, though, I'm happy to learn Skittles is going to have a companion, so he will have a friend which is healthier than him living in a cage is solitude, which is a miserable existence. Glad your home is coming along. I hope it's even better than it was before. It looks quite lovely. This video is very well shot, very professional, almost like you were showing a home that's not yours. Nicely done!

Ahh Thai concrete - not an expansion joint in site🙂

I just rescued 3 x pairs of Eclectus parrots to add to my two hens. They can be very talkative when they want to be
Good to see the renovations are progressing well! Take Care

We'd like to tile it but not sure yet :)

It's all looking really good now Jon. Congrats!
Looking good Jon
Thanks :)
flood has no chance when you have 💰looks amazing whats the total amount rebuilding ?
What happens if there is flooding again next year? Are you taking any preventive measures as well?
imagine having to do it again next year
So much work but the outcome is fantastic! You will enjoy the improvements and new finishes. May I ask for the approximate cost of the repairs?
looking really good 👍
Thanks mate
Nice place . 🤗😊🫶❤️🎉🎊
Fantastic renovation. Can you share your budget please?
By concreting around your house you are making things worse in terms of the grounds ability to absorb water.
Hold up. So that was you I walked past a few minutes ago in Aonang. I was leaving the beach.
I was walking around at that time :)
there is nothing sadder than a bird in a cage - just so cruel.

What do you think, Jon? Will it happen again next year?
I hope not :)
so the floors in your house weren't damaged?
Tile floors luckily on ground level as in most Thai houses .
OMG, global warming affects everyone in the world, latest one in Spain.
It's all bs
These things have always happened
