Why did the holy people want to take your language, or did they just want to see how important it was to you being that the words are held within your words. Especially because they say that the people will not know the language at the end right before the beginning.
Chickadee has wisdom, the inner strength. I have found mental fortitude in this concept despite being non-native. I find a lot of important lessons from my Native brothers.
To me, the tree represents his children, grandchildren, and generations to come, listening for wisdom. The tree listens well, gently moving side to side in the ceremonial dance. Maybe the willow tree is also a teacher.

Excellent stuff once again from Elder Wally. For me (on the path of listening to the holy people) when all else fails, I always have my tenacity. A tool more powerful than faith when tested to the Max. Tenacity is still there when faith and hope are lost in the fog.
I have faced many challenges that have tested my will to continue with my chosen path lately. My successes and failures are tied to lives and to fail is testament to my inadequacy. It's hard to accept that the cost of learning comes at the expense of the lives of others, even if those lives are not human. Thank you for the encouragement. I've come this far, I can go further still.

For those that don't know, Wally Brown served in the Marines stateside attending the guys coming back from Vietnam in the 60s. He tried his best to help people cope with the crap they endured in war, using his Navajo teachings. He's dealt with many folks suffering from PTSD. He is a Real Medicine Man. What he was taught needs to be recorded before the teachings leave with the last teacher. I am so glad he is willing to do these videos.

Sometimes I do not think we are supposed to have things and our path lies elsewhere. Sometimes, you can do something else that might satisfy the same desire. Call in friends and fam for their counsel. It might help to break a big task or goal into smaller parts.

Before all the selfhelp/motivational speakers of the 20 and 21st century, there were these teachings. Something else stolen away? The Dine knew it, the Greeks knew it, the Norsemen knew it…great to listen to from an old wise man as I leave the fire service at 67 and transition into nursing school…because it takes a lifetime…:)
This came at a time that was greatly needed for me. I'm in my 50's and lost my apartment I've lived in for 15 years. I'm homeless now, camping out under bushes. My health is poor from diabetes and I'm disabled. I don't get enough money to afford rent. I have a housing voucher for a one bedroom apartment which expires in 3 months but I'm unable to find any available. Was laughed at and told I'd be lucky to find one. I've almost given up. Been thinking maybe it would be better to just let it end. Your message reminds me to not give up and keep trying. I'll try very hard to not let the constant disappointments bring my spirit down. Thank you.

I needed this. There is someone whom I've worked with for a couple of years, and I'm very disappointed in them at this point. I had hoped/expected that the past year would see them grow and learn, and become the kind of person who would grow be a rock star in their field. Nope. So I'm trying to deal with the disappointment and move on with life.
