Great video guys which bought back marvelous memories. Many years ago I walked the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Started with an evening walk to the hut at the start at the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Left the crossing at the Emerald Lakes the next day. In between mind blowing views and knee breaking climbs.
That was so cool! You guys made it and the view was just worth the hike! ❤ Loved the editing and a fan of your adventures as always! Thanks for sharing this, Nico and Jack! Enjoy and keep safe 😊
Thanks so much!! Yeah it was a great hike the last part was really hard but I’m pleased we made it. Definitely worth it if you are heading to New Zealand.
Nico I also have a jacked-up knee (2 surgeries going on my 3rd this year most likely) This hike looked incredible, the mountains, the water, and all the nature was stunning and I am envious of you both. Hope the knee is doing good after that trek!
Thanks so much! It was a really amazing hike. It was pretty sore for a few days but I do think pushing myself through the pain helped. I'm sorry to hear that, what a hard thing to go through. I imagine I could do with another operation but it was so awful the first time round I'm not sure I can go through that again. I hope you manage to get it sorted soon!
Hello! I know exactly, how you felt, I felt the same and I suffered from sore muscles the next at least three days😂. But I was extremely proud to have managed the hike from start till end. But I took my time, with all the foto and eating and drinking stops, I needed almost 9 hrs🙈
Nicole, great to hear your adventures after watching the China series! I returned from NZ after 5 weeks of adventures. I arrived in Tongariro in October and was disappointed about no shuttles and the caution of snow. I did the Tama Lakes for 5 hours and a local told me can trek the Tongariro to the summit and reverse back to the car park. I did a painful 5 more hours and total 59,000 steps! The I drove north to Lake Taupo!
Ouch! Yeah it really depends on the time of year I heard the weather can really affect the treck Wow you did both the same day? I don't think I could it nearly killed me haha. Thanks so much for following along on here as well! We appreciate it!
@WeAreDestinationDetour Really miss your China series. You did a winter segment but nothing on Harbin. I am planning my 4th trip to Harbin and the Dongbei Region. I was at a Sakura Festival in Hamilton, NZ and surprised to see Chinese performances from Xian.
@@kelvinyschun We haven't stopped posting on our China channel we post every other week. We haven't done many specific winter videos apart from in Beijing as we don't travel much in winter. We do have a Harbin video coming out in a few weeks though as we went to a few places in Dongbei but we went there in the Autumn not winter. Yeah there is a big Chinese influence in New Zealand I managed to find some good food there haha
Bawhahahahahahahaha I don't always understand your accent so I have the closed captioning on, it read "As our American friends say let's go wholesome ass" I'm thinking wait a minute who says that, what friends, I never heard of it, I said Nicole couldn't possibly be saying that but what is she saying so I played it back, oh of course "Let's go haul some ass" I've heard of that LOL, when you're going in water with rocks would shower shoes help
Haha maybe we should make 'wholesome ass' a thing! Yes my accent is a bit stronger in these videos because I had been around my family haha Yeah I think they would definitely help I couldn't walk on the stones too much as it hurt. But it is very refreshing to jump in the lake haha
This wasn't a decision made on a whim haha we just filmed it in Pak N Save but it is based on our findings from quite a few supermarkets over our time in NZ. Thankfully as you will see in our other video (Is this the USA or New Zealand) we did find some great cheese in Geraldine and it was worth every penny after our long search.
