Introduction to Big Data: Everything You Need to Get Started!

Sara Kay ( / ssskay , an Associate Software Engineer in Moody’s Technical Rotation Program, was the guest speaker at the Coding with Callie meet-up on June 20 at 8PM EST.
At Moody’s, Sara has gained experience as a data engineer and data scientist having been involved in projects that analyze extensive global datasets to detect fraudulent companies and sanctioned entities worldwide.
In this meet-up, Sara covers the fundamental concepts of data engineering, data analytics, and data science.
Then, she shows us a hands-on approach to better understand how data flows from raw collection to actionable insights through a mini data project that illustrates the data pipeline, including data mining, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data cleaning, and creating a simple visualization.
