    This is a great discussion of the material. Please don't ever be embarrassed filming. Just had a piece on the quartzite show(the RV part) on 60 minutes and every other person was filming for a UA-cam channel. I appreciate what I learn from you so much.

      It’s definitely one of the silliest most interesting man-made materials that people work I’ve been seeing it for as long As I have been in the industry but believe it or not I’ve never seen it ever being used and a piece of jewelry I’ve held onto a piece for many years that I’ve planned on making a video with but I haven’t done it yet

      I like it a lot more than the Denver show it’s definitely a buyers market fair at quartzite I believe since it’s a lot of mom and pops and they do their own slabbing a lot of times their own harvesting and a lot of their own cabin it’s a good place to connect with the material that you were buying that close with Luv that was works for the people who worked it unfortunately a lot of foreigner dealers at jam shows do you not do any of the cutting of their stones and are paying someone next to nothing to do all the work where the mom and pops hair in America at shows like this one do all of the work

    When would you recommend to be the best time to stop by in town for this years Tucson’s gem show?

    • @lapidarydave
      @lapidarydave  3 роки тому

      Most of the time Tucson is Jan-feb but this year it got “rescheduled” there’s a good chance it might not happen at all
      Most years there are two types of people that go to the show for more than casual buying and those of the people that show up early to buy a quality the first few days of the show to get the first pick of the litter and then there are the people that show up at the last days in the show who want quantity They try to get the best deal possible in my opinion the quality people are a lot more respected then the quantity people but The vendors at the show are used to people haggling and lowballing the last few days of the show So it’s a little tough to answer your question on when the best time to be at the Tucson show I would say if you can try to stay the whole month this way you get a bit of both worlds

    • @lapidarydave
      @lapidarydave  3 роки тому

      Most of the times if you see writing on a stone it’s usually a slab which is intended to be cut and polished later down the line in which the writing will be removed however much like your situation I have seen people use sharpie to write on CRYSTAL’s or other materials that are not intended to be cut and carved which is a shame because it can be hard to remove and sometimes the ink from a pen or permanent marker can seep into the material or CRYSTAL making it even harder to remove I was just soaking it in a little bit of acetone or perhaps using some store-bought “goo-oof” which can easily be bought in small quantities from places like the dollar store or Walmart it shouldn’t damage the CRYSTAL at all but it is very good at removing ink :)

      @@lapidarydave may I recommend you promote a platform that doesn’t demonetize you based upon your audience’s or your political or religious belief? One that can’t do censorship? My friend Diamond Miner Ivan’s was just demonetized for no reason, he went from 10,000 followers to just 70 today.

      @@joycerobertson3238 I appreciate the thought but I don’t do the religious or politics thing myself I never get involved with that kind of stuff on social media UA-cam and it’s nothing you’ll ever find in my search history as of right now UA-cam is treating me really well it seems like I’m getting paid more than folks that have more than twice as many subscribers as me I keep everything PG I never curse I never let anybody curse in my videos either But if anything better than UA-cam ever pops up I’ll definitely start uploading there as well I didn’t start the channel in order to make money I started to help people so if it ever happens where I’m not making money like I am today I don’t think I’ll let that stop me from using UA-cam
