Hi Happy. I didn’t know you did a “lick of the day”. Considering that I started buying Homespun Tapes when they ACTUALLY were VHS tapes, then DVD’s and now downloads, I am EXCITED to see a lick of the day. Your lessons taught me how to do a steady bass, blues and general folk songs. I learned Jim Croce and John Denver songs from your tapes. I loved Artie’s lessons and miss him. And just in general in the last 20 years have grown as a musician…. Just bought the Woodie Guthey lessons….. You and your son are now putting out great lessons. Thank you so much for your long time service to us all.
Great little move, Happy! I should’ve stolen those VHS tapes from the public library when I started playing 30 years ago. I checked those Homespun tapes out so many times, they were practically mine🤣 Thanks for teaching a generation of singer songwriters!
man just think of how easy all this would have been if we had this technology back in the 70 and 80 s when i was learning this on cassetts tapes. It was a lot more work back them but i did learn alot from homespun.I still have tapes from many artist like Russ Barenberg, livingston taylor,Artie traum,Happy ,Merle Watson,Tony Rice, and many more.and they all still play.I use to wait by the mail for the next Homespun lesson.
Happy Traum, I learned a lot from you many years ago through Homespun. You are a great teacher and possibly one of the best. Many thanks Happy. Stay Safe. Cheers from Queensland Australia
Hi Happy. Love your tutorials. While the guy with whom I play can play anything he sets his mind to, and very well, rapt that, my skills have strange holes, and I am always looking to improve on anything can already play, too. By the way, flashy strings! Not sure if they made much of a difference for me, but I am an old “stringwatcher”…

You are an inspirational teacher and musician.
You are the adult version of Mr. Rogers...and that's a good thing. Thanks for all your help.
The colored strings certainly make it easier to see what’s going on. Great idea!
Fantastic thanks great tutorial love the strings 🤠🎸🙏
Love it all, Hap! The strings help a great deal. The tips, licks, and discussion of applications inform and enlighten. Great job!
Hi Happy, I just found this video. These "DR Neon's" would be great for teaching my little Granddaughter guitar, thanks for showing this to us!

Before Internet, I was into the Home Spun DVDs and even a few VHF tapes. Quality material always.
Happy was on the first one I bought back in the late 80s I think. I was just getting into the blues for the first time.
Hi Happy! Great lesson, thank you. I agree with the other posters, I love the strings as they make it much easier to see what you’re picking.

Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Thank you. I think the colored strings do help. So does the piece of tape.
Thank you so much as always. I dig the colored strings!
Colors of strings help me visualize finger placement and movement better than standard strings. Thanks!
So considerate to use those coloured strings. I have them myself on my Spanish.
Well Done Happy!
