Wow, 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras... but now 69! I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's or Vavilov's (Caccini's) Ave Maria... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music.
* Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash.
When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count.
“On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy. Я хочу объяснить Вам эту песню. "AVE MARIA" (в переводе с латинского "Славься, Мария") - песнопение во славу Богоматери. Словосочетание AVE MARIA конечно знает каждый христианин. Очень многие композиторы прошлого и нашей современности обращались к написанию этого песнопения. Игорь Крутой (тот, что аккомпанировал Димашу) написал свой вариант специально для Димаша. Вот его Вы и услышали сейчас.

The pianist Igor Krutoy is the composer. He wrote this piece especially for Dimash. He came out of early retirement a few years ago to work with Dimash after hearing him sing. He is hugely famous and successful and some of the work they’ve done together are simply masterpieces ❤️

Ave Maria is a classical catholic hymn that has been around for centuries. Because Dimash is Muslim he didn’t sing the lyrics, just vocalized. He said this was a prayer to the world.
Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully

If I may, Ave Maria (pron: Ah-vay Maria) is Latin for Hail Mary. Many classical composers have written their versions, which have remained popular and honored over the centuries.
Igor Krutoy, who is Russian and easily one of the foremost melodists on the planet, wrote this beautiful and striking melody, as you can see from other’s comments.
What you are feeling is a Russian tone in the music, perhaps something you would hear in Russian Orthodox churches. Russian music has a lot of emotional notes in it ,using many minor keys. That is why it is so beautiful and so heart-tugging. Listen to composers like Tchaikovsky, Katchaturian, Rachmaninov and others and you can hear the same kind of genius in Igor Krutoy’s music and melodies.
And, since this, Ave Maria, is a hymn to Mary, no words need to be said because it’s all in the New Testament (Hail Mary, full of Grace…)
This is a magnificent way for the music to highlight Dimash’s magnificent voice, and this time, only using his higher registers. Which is great, because some people may think that as he develops and expands his lower range, he cannot sing the higher ranges, but of course, as you saw he can. As perfectly as ever!

The (original) song Ave Maria" is a popular setting of the Latin prayer Ave Maria. Dimash said he envisioned an angel when creating this song and to me this shines through. The man on the piano is Igor Krutoy, a very well known russian componist, who came out of retirement to compose songs especially for Dimash (he composed or arranged this song too)

You know, the 'Ahhh' sound in Hebrew represents God. The choir was almost angelic, wasn't it? Igor Kruyoy, at the piano, is a world famous Russian composer who came out of retirement to work with Dimash. Whenever the two work together it is just spectacular! Have you seen their performance of 'Passione' (which Igor wrote and Dimash sang)? It's amazing!

Igor Krutoy is one of the best known composers in the world. He often writes for Dimash's voice and then plays the accompaniment, too. Dimash asked him to write this piece. He could be enjoying retirement, but finds this more rewarding.
The original Ave Maria is a Catholic song. It means Hail Mary.
Dimash is Muslim and while he loves the sounds of the other Ave Maria's, he was not going to sing "Hail Mary" as that would be acknowledging another god(ess) other than the god he worships.
So he he called the great Maestro, Igor Krutoy and ask him to write an Ave Maria just for vocalization and as usual, Igor came through. Igor is not the vocal teacher to Dimash but has had a powerful impact on the career of Dimash.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!
