Look, you need to start off practicing straight in shots with a lot of left or right and hard enough so there's no masse, to learn how much deflection there is. Until you can do that, you don't understand deflection. And once you can, you need to practice that straight in shot with speed and spin to see how far you can reliably control how much deflection. Again, you need to hit it hard enough so it doesn't swerve. As far as swerve, that'll take a LIFETIME of playing on different equipment and in different humidity to cultivate the touch of swerve, which of course requires understanding deflection as well. The first thing you need to be able to do is pocket balls with center ball, really, but most beginners don't hit the CB accurately enough to know if they accidentaly deflected / put side spin on the ball. This is why it's crucial to practice by yourself, at a rate of shots fast enough to accumulate a massive database.

Aloha, you are just awesome. Very easy to understand and you show us all the options and why. I love your channel.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your opinion and support!
Thank you Sir, as a new player, your instruction is easy to understand and put into drill practice. 👍
Thank you very much for your comment and support!
Thanks again
Thanks for your comment!
Does shaft diameter really matter for your game ?
Yes, smaller diameter is more spin. I use a 12.5 mm cuetec cynergy playing shaft, but a lot of good players use an 11.8 mm shaft
