But even with these finely tuned strategies, the outcome is far from certain. Surprisingly, most predators fail most of the time.

As amazing as this spider is, I can't help but feel in awe at how the hell these guys managed to find a spider and set up their cameras to get the action shots that they have here.
I think they sat down and drank tea together with the spider and negotiated with some terms and conditions u know like a legit business u cant eat without money.

A documentary camera team are usually filming for months and months and only a small percentage gets in the final cut.
So that's how they managed to catch that. If they knew roughly where to look, odds are they'd see it happen at some point during their time there
Who says it's the same spider and the same location on every shot? Can you? I can't. Surely not even the same day. They probably filmed several spiders spinning their webs (at least one in macro, one from the river bank and one from the air with a drone) and then edited the best shots to make viewers believe it's the same action.

Every time I saw a large spider web across a street or a stream I always wondered how they manage to get the first silk across such a long distance compared to their size. This video was the answer. Spiders and their silk are truly amazing...

It’s not intelligence so much as it is instinct, and that’s what’s so mind boggling about these things. I’d wager they could do that entire process with their eyes closed.
Spiders are my largest fear (tangible at least), but I am still fascinated by them. How it knows to do this is beyond me. How it can spin a web that large is beyond me. How it reels in with such precision. Man. Just amazing the world. Amazing.

@@TysonEmmy they were always there. To the best of my knowledge youtube use to prioritise comments to the language you use, in terms of how they appear in the top comments. This would mean for you english comments would be prioritised. Now i believe youtube has lifted this prioritisation in certain areas

To be honest....I think this is one of the best wild life capture of all time! Proper angles to make those webs visible while the Da Vinci of spiders is creating the masterpiece.... What a magnificent creature! 😻

But if one comes near me it's as dead as a door-nail.
They lay eggs by literally the hundreds,You do nothing to the population by killing one spider,Hell by even killing 10 spiders you do nothing.

Spiders are kind of creepy, but since I hate flies so much more, I usually leave spiders alone, since they can catch an annoying fly once in a while.
