I am actually shocked that there are fans of this film and The Kid From Tibet in that I thought I was the only one. I actually just got my copy of the release you review ( I wanted a guide to figure all the features) and it is definitely incredible. I did some research on the two different blu ray releases and thanks to another reviewer, learned the 88 has superior picture quality (and from your review gained relief not ordering the VinSyn release.) Your review was quite useful for me. Thanks to 88, I have both One The Run and The Iceman Cometh (what a great title....thank you Eugen O'neil) in high definition which I never dreamed was possible back when I first discovered these film on VHS. The three Yuen Biao films mentioned are definitely a niche audience audience item and it shocks me that there are enough fans to allow such high quality releases and echo your hopes that the will release a version of The Kid From Tibet.

I enjoyed this movie & have the R3 DVD, it has elements of Highlander especially the final fight sequence.

I just ordered this. Apparently the color timing on the 88 Films release is far better than the VinSyn release. And, the extended cut on the 88 is complete, unlike the shorter extended cut on the VinSyn. Now that you say the extended cut makes for an even better film, I really can’t wait to watch it! I’m a huge fan of Brandon Bentley’s reconstructions of the extended cuts of Righting Wrongs and The Millionaire’s Express, and it looks like he’s done it again!
I currently have the Panorama Blu from HK, which I thought looked pretty good but I’m sure the 88 will be a significant improvement in all departments. Very glad I didn’t pick up the VinSyn!
Yeah I saw some screen-shot match-ups between this and VS, and I think I preferred this one to be honest. Hope it arrived safely and you enjoyed it :)
Great review. Thank you. Also for answering my commentary yeaterday. Iceman Cometh is awesome in quality. There's only one thing. It's a picture quality comparison of VS and 88 on another UA-cam chanel. Please take a look at the snow scenes and one girl behind a curtain scene. Snow scene is much much brighter. Loved that. Curtain scene is different but also great. Apart from those two scenes I really love the 88 Films release. With much better artwork and the taiwanese 127 min. cut. Great. Awesome. One of my fav. movies of Yuen Biao.
After reading your comment on Lethal Panther T.V.P. release I've double dipped and purchased the KungFuBob artwork yesterday, on top of my Blu Ray cover C. Thanks 😂

I know you reviewed "Lethal Panther" from The Vengeance Pack. Picture quality of that blew me away, too. Do you know a similar release with such a sharpness and brightness? Different movie but I have pre-ordered The Dead and the Deadly from Zavvi, but i still didn't get it from them. Anyone else having to wait this long for it?
And btw I think you liked Everything everywhere all at once and you have the german edition. Do you know they have a replacement disk for the 4k version because it was too dark?

Anyhow I only found the Infos on german sites. You have to send a proof of purchase to an email from Leonine. I don't know if they will send it to other countries as Germany.

Nice unboxing as always.
I wasn't too impressed with that 2k transfer of Iceman cometh, for me, it has too much grain throughout.
But I suppose that comes within scarfice of making that hd trasintion.
Some parts look decent, and in other parts, the grain looks horrendous, takes away from the overall clarity.
I expect as it wasn't particularly that great quality in the first place (the picture), I hadn't owned the VHS version or dvd of it back in the days so wouldn't know on this one but just going by the knowledge in unboxing here, as you have owned all versions.
So those who had other versions of old, then fair play in contrast to then, it may be a dream to own now in comparison.
Is anyone else getting this grain on the 88?
I watched Dreadnaught Euraka before this today and that looked sweet in contrast,even the dark parts looked crisp.
I'm just building up my 88, Eureka collection again ...so all of your unboxings are great to watch over and over.
