How the Bayformers inspired MechaGodzilla's design in Godzilla vs Kong. Despite being labeled mindless popcorn films with no sense of direction. The Michael Bay films will undoubtedly go down in history as a high watermark for visual effects. After seeing how well the 1st Transformers film created realistic metal characters. Marvel Studios were convinced that they could do the same with an Iron Man films. But there have been instances where the movies were used as an example of how not to make character designs. During the process of creating Mecha Godzilla for Godzilla v Kong, the director harkened back to his experience with Transformers 3. He remembered sitting in the front row and struggling to follow the action. Saying that the characters looked too complex with all their moving parts and that the fights looked a plane crash. This bad experience would inspire him to to make MechaGodzilla less like the Bayformers as possible. - Фільми й анімація
idk about you but i like the bayformers designs because that’s what a real cybertronian would probably look like, you can’t transform into a perfect vehicle without having all these parts right
Yeah, I like the very detailed designs. I think the struggle with the fight is all cons are silver or black. That's definitely a major issue. 2 & 3 had 20 Decepticons and I think there weren't any one on one fights. I didn't have a hard time following the fights, but this is definitely a flaw.
It’s honestly great to look at frame by frame, but while watching something, I do want to be able to follow what’s happening.
And even then you still can’t… cus where do all the bot parts go in vehicle mode? Lol there’s no way they can have perfect interiors like that and be that complex, maybe by thats just me being someone who knows the actual figures can’t cheat and make limbs disappear and replace them with car parts I guess? Idk lol
@@terogates1 I don't think there's cheating as you put it in the movies. Deciding suddenly a character has something that's not part of the toy.
@@terogates1yeah hasbro likes cheaping out
The thing with fights in Bayformers is that they're seen from the point of view of a human. It's basically what you'd see if you were there.
That's interesting but maybe this is a flaw. I think the issue is 2&3 had 20 cons and they're all silver or black.
Best not watch Beasts then, same issue@@AutobotSimmer
@@jimbosolo9667 yeah I know the charecter list is long. I didn't have a problem following the fights on 2&3. Just pointing out the flaw. Plus the lack of character development.
And that's the problem! 😂😂😂
We don't want "human" view.
We want the "transformers"-freaking perspective!!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
The first 3 bayverse movies were genuinely good movies people are too harsh on them, bayverse peak and inspired bb and this
Naaah the first one was decent the others are pure garbage.
@@drstephenstrange897 nah ain’t no way, 07 overrated imo DOTM had the best story and action by far
Its not good bro. Go read the idw comics those are good storys and not bay verse trash@@jtank1174
Writing just wasn't their forte nothing wrong when literally everything was damn good
@@jtank1174correct, but I love all 3 of the first bayformers
I don't know how people can't follow the fights in the TF movies
Its like not understanding 2 + 2
obviously it is really difficult for like 2-5 years old kids to understand what is happening in big screen
@@mdismile1307 not really my nephew will be 7 this year he was able to follow every last one perfectly fine when he was in that age range. And let's be honest most 2 years olds aren't about to sit down and watch the movie including all of the fights
Because they are a mess, I mean as a TF fan I can get who is who but if you're a casual you don't understand anything.
I don't blame them. Their fights can be a mess at times. ROTB fight scenes at least doesn't look messy. No shaky cams and all that and doesn't look like two robots raving at each other moving sporadically XD
Now all we need is a live action Trypticon
Ya, in a bayformers style
Probably would be worse than CGI for Devastator
The hell was wrong with devastator?@@AutobotSimmer
@@rudolphmcvay8487 So complex it set computers on fire.
@@MrHammerhead08 I remember hearing about that.
I love how the fight scenes are in Bayverse . SO TO DARK OF THE MOON !!
Bunch of 60 year olds talking bout “fight scenes look like a plane crash” no your optics are just fucking fried.
Its like you guys missed the point where he said he had to sit in the front row. Also the director is 41 and would've been 28 at the time he watched Dark of the Moon.
@@RandomBlackGamerbrother it is not that serious
@@Nolov3_EThe's just educating man
I think the real reason people had a hard time following the TF fights was the camera work.
Yeah. The camera shaking bugs me as well. I want to see the Transformers well enough and not be there where they are. I appreciate that they have the camera looking like an ant recording the Transformers. But the shakiness is just too much.
Yeah! Screw this "shaky-cam" BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just give us a steady cam to see the glorious fight between the robots!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
@@dereenaldoambun9158 didn't we have that with Rise of The Beasts already?
To be honest, Bayformers also most likely inspired the fork, I mean "Mechagodzilla" from the anime trilogy
FORK😂
The tuning fork 😂

I honestly like the design of MechaGodzilla, and Godzilla vs Kong is such an awesome movie.
I can agree with you, man
Pacific rim: 🙄
Only one movie and a 2 season series
@@Tyranid_Hive_Mindmhm.
And that failed hard after the 2nd movie.
Meanwhile Godzilla keep coming with better & greater sequels. 😂😂😂😂
Clearly Godzilla directors know their audiences unlike Pacific Rim! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The design of MechaGodzilla in the monsterverse reminded me of the design of Trypticon from the TF War for cybertron game
Same
I honestly live the fight scenes in the bayfilms
I can see Trypticon looking something like that in the film but more complex
One of the inspirations of MechaGodzilla in GvK was the simple, blocky designs of classic Transformers, referring to G1
I think that despite the entire purpose of Mechagodzilla's design being more simple, it still looks like Optimus and Megatron from TLK.
Mecha Godzilla looks a lot like Trypticon in my opinion
Are you sure that it wasn't inspired by Ready, Player One's version of Mechagodzilla?
I genuinely do not understand how people are struggling with following the action, the designs still have a fucking silhouette
Probably because fightals are usually from point of view from below and are zoomed in too much at times
The blocky design of Mechagodzilla always reminds me of the G1 designs
That's great they all connected
I want a Godzill and Transformers crossover someday
maybe some people were struggling to watch bc of camera works, but still tf 1, 2, 3 are my favorites, same goes to GvK
How the hell can you not follow transformers action? I thinks it pretty freaking easy bc they are so humanoid and all of them distinguishable enough from each other with their own colors and ways of fighting.
I love the bayverse Transformers. You can see each part of their body and tell what vehicle they are. It game them their own style of what they would look like in bot form. Unlike AoE and TLK, they all nearly looked the same.
The bayverse designs are very good because of their complex and detailed design because it actually feels alien. I can’t imagine a g1 transformer inspired design in real life because it just wouldn’t feel like an alien on earth
not being able to follow the action is an insane skill issue
And something that doesn't blow up rendering PCs (talking to you Devastator and Driller)
Two of my favorite franchises in one, which I wouldn't mind if Micheal Bay directed a Monsterverse film.
Now those who know more about transformers, if Michael Bay would have made a movie about titans, the mecha godzilla design would go very well with tripticon
“I want to make mechagodzilla simple to not confuse the viewers”
*Procedes make 2nd most complex mechagodzilla design*
Bayverse are the best designs for the Transformers. They look believably real.
I LOVED the complexity of the og trilogy bayformers
Transformer movies are dope af.
I always saw this design as a good mix, it feels like if the terminator was pretending to be godzilla instead of a human
People who couldn’t keep up with the fights are probably people who saw tf3 for the first time or transformers in general. Cuz never saw the op cartoon but did see the others like prime and animated where i can tell in the movies which is the weapon, body, and if they’re throwing hands
Imagine if Trypticon scanned mechagodzilla
I like the first 3 live action transformers films and I’m nostalgic for them but holy crap I’m glad that MechaGodzilla was simplified in comparison because if it was designed the same way it would A, less resemble MechaGodzilla and look more like a Bayformers version of Trypticon and B, MechaGodzilla’s design is clean and readable with smaller details like the sawblades in it’s hands standing out more as well as the industrial grinders in it’s jaws
I loved the bayverse movies like they, in my opinion, were pretty good
Ngl would be interesting to see a detailed recreation of the full city map using the sections used in retail along with new sections custom made.
Experience is when you learn from your mistakes.
History is when you learn from other people's mistakes.
*_And those who forget history are doomed to repeat it_*
love or hate bayverse but the graphics are awesome and it sparked the start of transformers coming to live action
So it’s not so much they inspired his design, but that they were the example of what NOT to do
I mean when you’re transforming into a 28 foot robot after just a being whole SEMI truck a moment prior you can bet there would a lot of parts
The over complicated designs is part of why the action in those movies was so hard to follow. The other part is Michael Bays directing, the man loves over the top, chaotic, and unnecessary explosions.
The G1 simplified look, to be exact.
* the designer said he hates the bayverse designs and based them on the cybertron games
I just realized the fourth movies of the Transformers and Godzilla both take place in Hong Kong
Godzilla 1998, Godzilla 2014, Godzilla King of the monsters and Godzilla VS Kong.
Transformers 07, Transformers ROTF, Transformers DOTM, and Transformers AOE.
Hold up- this person is a genius!
Still looks like Grimlock
Bro should not have seen the movie in the front row
i mean it still look like a plane crash with all the building crumble around them
I like how that newer movie kept that G1 design. I wonder how this newest one is going to go?
I hope any new Transformers live actions will take a Mechagodzilla approach and not make all the faces look like wrinkly raisins.
This also makes me think that a massive trypticon apearance in live action would look very impressive, im kinda thinking the the 70 km tall idw one but that may be unreasonable to put in a movie.
Michael Bay: the g1 designs would have looked too simple in live action, so we gave them lots of parts
Mechagodzilla creator: those things are hideous. Mechagodzilla needs to have a much simpler design.
Mecha godzilla needed a mayhem touch
Wasn't it The Terminator that inspired 2021 Mechagodzilla?
Ya know I don't have a problem with either tho. The cybertronians are an alien species that are made out of metal while we're made of flesh and bone, our bodies are incredibly complex so why wouldn't an aliens also be complex. Mecha-godzilla though is something made by people or aliens (idk wiki said extraterrestrial) so it would make sense for it to be far less complx since it was made by engineers over a smaller amount of time compared to the evolutionary stages that cybertronians went through.
I love the criticism that the Bayformer fights are too hard to follow... yet how many fans recreated the fights with perfect accuracy in stop motion form? Dude's eyes were just poor.
It was actually inspired more so from the terminator look and legendary Godzilla itself.
I dont know about anyone else but i am able to distinguish who's who in a bayformers fight
Liked this mechagodzilla though will be honest that I'd hoped the story would have the ghidora head start to regenerate and taking over the mecha body to essentially bring mechaghidora
I feel the third movie had improved some of the fight scenes to be a bit easier to follow. Guess im used to them though. 😅
This is my classify:
First one
DOTM
ROTF
AOE
TLK
That’s why people kinda hated king vs Godzilla
I loves mechagodzilla’s design
Ironic cause the 3rd transformers is easily the best one
I think we can all agree that kiryu is the best design!
I don't really get the drama about the Bayformers action scenes
I mean, it's not THAT hard to understand who is who and what is happening
They should have used trypticon from transformers: fall of cybertron game
MechaGodzilla always had a simplified look.
Bro people irk me with this “oh I can’t keep up with what’s happening it’s to hard to look it nonsense” I first watched beyformers when I was 6 years old and can tell you evey punch, every kick, every blast, and every slash from those first three movies. Especially the bumblebee vs barricade fight. Me and my brother would reenact the fights the same day we first watched them it was very simple for us. So idk what the issue is it just seems like people hating on something for no reason then when the directors do what you want yall wanna get mad and say go back to how it used to be people kill me sometimes.🤦🏾♂️
Is it just me or can Mechagodzilla actually pull off being a good movie version of Trypticon?
That would explain why I thought mechagodzilla looked lame
That’s so odd. My main problem on Monsterverse Mecha-G was that he looked too much like a Bayformer!
I followed the action pretty easily
Azrael being bigger then Batman does make a bit of sense since this is s lsrge suit if armor, and he's only a few millimeters bigger then Bruce so I'm ok with the scale. I'm liking This figure. I might have to get one and set it up with my Knightfall Batman.
I think when McFarlane makes a really good figure it's better then when Hasbro makes a really good figure because of how many new sculpts McFarlane does, and how much detail is put into those sculpts. And with Hasbro charging $25-$26 for a Marvel Legends figure that's 80% reuse on average, i just prefer DC Multiverse's $23 a figure with a detailed sculpt even when it's reuse.
The first 3 movies Sense of D Directions it was the last 2 that didnt
Definitely CGI Trypticon material
Mecha godzilla is trypticon iykyk
Sorry to say that if you had a hard time keeping up with the action in Transformers then there’s no saving you cause I was like 11-12 keeping along well enough to be able to act out the entire movie without needing it playing.
That should have been tripacon
Look like a plane crash (well thats probably how they would look if they were real)
Cool video but if you look closely at mechagodzilla it’s anything but simplistic
That Mecha Godzilla was messy design
But transformers fighting is worse than what a plane crash what even look like that made sense
Same area Age of extinction Than Godzilla vs kong in Hongkong
Choose your side Transformers or Godzilla
I thought they got mechas design from grimlock
Does anyone know what this background song is?
Monsterverse video when?
I don't get how the action in the bayverse is hard to follow, its a common thing ive noticed with all bayverse criticism, the fights are easy to see and the models for the designs make thent stand out in there fight scenes and dark of the moon is the best at this when it comes to all the bayverse movies
i love godzila
If he wanted to make Mechagodzilla more simple he failed. But, speaking on actions scenes, he marvellous managed since bay's movies look like metal diarrhea.
Because the designs are too complex😐fr…
Bay Design > Godzilla
So if it werent for critics mechagodzilla would have looked even cooler? Mane 😒
Marvel/DC CGi: 🤮
Transformers CGI: 🗿
I think the bayverse movies are the best Transformers movies
So technically they… uninspired him?
