Neubaufahrzeug 3-5 | Part 1/2 | 1/35 Trumpeter | build & paint

- I'm building and painting the Trumpeter 1/35th scale Neubaufahrzeug scale model kit. Kit number 05529 is one of three Neubaufahrzeuge used in Norway in 1940 and later in Ukraine in '41. The design did lead nowhere and all vehicles were scraped in '42. The two other desings were made from mild steel, one with a Krupp and the other with a turret designed by Rheinmetall all using the Krupp chassis.
This episode will deal with the sacle model itself as well the painting options, next week we'll do the weathering and finish the model to a good shelf-standard.
Beautiful subtle weathering 👍
Thanks mate!
Really love the lesser known German tanks, my favorites are the paper panzers👍
The lower the production count, the more it is interessting to me - I do like paperpanzers as well, as long as they are not a "what if" project ; )
It's nice work. Also this kit is very interesting and impressive kit. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for uploading.
thank you my friend. It will be finished next week. Would be interessting to see how the Amusing Hobby one compares, since they do know how to make tracks ; )
Very nice build and video 👍🤗🐻🐉
Thank you very much!
Something different Kai nice work . Regards Gav.
Thanks Gavin!
A very nice tidy build. Nice work on the tracks
Thanks Steve - tracks will be revisited till the next episode, there is more potential in them ; )
That looks great. It's a vehicle I'd like to build - but I don't like the look of those tracks! Looking forward to the weathering. Cheers.
Thanks Andrew. Interessting vehicle indeed. I'll give these tracks a extra day of work, not happy with them either yet - next friday they'll be fixed.
Great job done on this unique tank my friend. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching mate!
Nice work as normal my friend nice colour choices they all work well together . I have the Drago version of tis kit i may have to dig it out after seeing your build
Thank you Greg, I can imagine the Dragon one will be just be bit more enjoyable to build - not that this one was bad, just a bit a grind with some parts - looking forward to watch the review, if you dig yours up!
Hello my friend i did a review a couple of years ago here is the link ua-cam.com/video/OsaIEYj1zhw/v-deo.html
The German Matilda II.
Hahaha how unfair to that poor Matilda xD
A nice addition thank you for sharing it although I think the Amusing Hobby version may be better although I have not seen any reviews or comments. but still a nice build😀
Thanks. I have not seen the Amusing Hobby one in Person - I have two kits made by them, they look promising - avoiding the Trumpeter Kit for Amusing Hobby or Dragon is not a bad idea in this case - the tracks were no good quality hobby time in my case ; )
@@Tankbrusher HI There was a review some time ago which has been pointed out to me that the Amusing Hobby kit was the better of the three and I will probably get this at some point. I'm currently enjoying building the Miniart Sturmgeschutz III O Series slowly but challenging. look forward to your next video.
@@paulhumphriesz4557 Amusing Hobby has at least the most recent mold, I'd expect it to be the best. That StuG 0 is sitting on my workbench as well, I'm crawling my way through it for a year now xD Next here is the takom King Tiger Initial or a StuG A but I keep changing my mind daily xD
Hello! Did you use any varnish before oil highlights?
Hello! : ) No Varnish before using oils, I use A-Mig. 2019 Thinner for my oils and enamels - it does not interact with Acrylics or Lacquer paints.
very interesting! The Neubaufahrzeug is one of my favorite tanks so thanks for posting this. I built one of trumpeters other versions (Nr.1). and the tracks are still as horrible as this one
Thanks for watching mate. Its a very interessting vehicle, specially how light it is for its size. I'll keep my eyes open for one the Dragon ones in case I build the other two variants - or at least the Rheinmetall-turret one.
@@Tankbrusher their is no dragon version of this. Amusing hobby males one, that's it. The trumpeter version had since been discontinued. Amusing hobbies version is the best and most Accurate
@@rickmoreno6858 I think there is a Vehicle by Dragon: 6690 - correct me if I'm wrong. My Lady brought this home for me from the local store. The Amusing Hobby one looks interessting, but was sold out by the time I looked into it. Tracks are replaced with 3D printed onces and look much better now : ) They are in my "track painting" video I still have to upload this week.
@@Tankbrusher you are correct my apology. Yes the amusing hobby is and will be restocked in 3/5 days on hobbylinc japan. So I'm going to have to pick it up. I cant get any dragon kits here in the states, wait I can but there over 80+ and I am not paying for that, you can get a Full interior kit by ryefield for that price. It pisses me off. I'm looking for 1 kit in general and I cant find that 1 dragon kit at all.
@@rickmoreno6858 Dragon Kits are about 85$ US in Europe (tax included), I got a few Panthers for chrismas - they were about half price on sale and still very disapointing for what was in the box. The Market will adjust, RFM made many Dragon Tigers irrelevant for example. There were time you'd break your neck getting 6252, now it's like 40$ panic sales xD You can stalk scalemates.com or even contact some guys who have the kit you're looking for in thier stash. If it is a popular subject, it will be done better by new china companies anyway within the next years : ) Unfortunatly I can't order in japan - shipping + import taxes kills it completly - you guys may have a better trade agreement.
This things is historically bad and a massive fail in terms of actual efficiency but damn does it have character it may even be one of my favourite tanks
I only wish I've had bought Spielberger's book before I did build it. This is the same like the Pz. I, they were never intended to be used in anger. I still find it hard to imagin that this one did lead into the Pz. IV
