Can this occur if my child at age 17 had a recent brain surgery for a rare cancer called Clival Chordoma at base of skull IF THE RESECTION was done going through the nose or nasal/facial resection having to use a bit of muscle cut out of upper thigh to help rebuild that area back? She’s post surgery done on December 30 ,2019 running into the new year of 2020 with some complications after with meningitis and CSF spinal and brain leak as meant 2 separate times of long days lying flat only up to 30% with a spinal drip and picc line with weeks of antibiotics for the meningitis. HOWEVER we are EXTREMELY worried about her nasal pass way and non stop issues still occurring since surgery back in December! It’s daily for her and very miserable! She did and still is with extra need using the saline nasal bottle sprays etc to release all dried up blood and clots from nose. BUT it’s been past time it should be healed up and still having random bloody nose and rock hard and larger than expected hard clots or what at times seems like rock hard blood covered strange super hard pieces coming out at one point we thought was maybe a piece of bone? It’s disruptive for her to just do daily tasks BUT especially trying to go to sleep it’s almost like she can’t even breathe through her nose? I’ve given her vapor chest rubs, purchased a Vick’s humidifier for nighttime and even an air purifier that runs all day with frequent filter changes! It’s becoming a horrible habit of her trying to put finger up nose out of frustration trying to release the uncomfortable hard rock like pieces out? Sometimes she can get it others can just loosen it and try to blow out... it’s very strange also because she will randomly unaware get nose bleeds? She does her saline rinses in am & pm as told and somedays she will do an extra with the annoying feeling of something stuck in nose! Not sure why STILL happening after 7 months since surgery followed by 38 rounds of proton radiation!? Could this be any part of what your speaking of in video?? Or what could it be or caused from!? We take her to MD Anderson in Houston Texas one of the best Children Cancer Centers BUT we do live about 31/2 hours out... so with that said after a 5 months stay after surgery and radiation we came home then she got covid but currently better after retest showing negative results!! But we have to drive her back and forth every 3/4 moths for follow up care and we are about to return back in 9 days for next follow ups so August 19, however I don’t see she’s scheduled to see the ENT that was the assistant in her surgery? Can you help me figure out what this could be or if needs to have some immediate attention or maybe normal? It’s very stressful and consuming for our daughter and our family she seems overwhelmed and stressed and frustrated over it! Can you help?
