Yeah, the broom, the fan... those are the classics but after watching a lot of these videos I can say that this is my favorite so far, the crash was solid, then she went backwards quite a distance trying to save the run but getting out of the thing for good, nice camera angles through the video and the girl fooling around at the end flipping us off is the cherry on top
Same with luge, downhill skiing, ski jumping, gymnastics vault, Indy car…you have to have no fear and the need for adrenaline highs. Most people’s natural inhibitions would take over and prevent them from doing these sports.
Very lucky she lifted her leg at 2:00 because I can't imagine the force put on her if she were to catch her foot on the corner there. Must be scary as hell.
I'm sorry but I chuckled when I saw the sled sliding by itself at 0:58. I was hoping it could win the competition and make all other sleds feel bad about themselves. Imagine the sled being picked up and celebrated by its fans at the finishing line.
I have been to every track in North America, I live 315 miles from Lake Placid, the new track built-in 1999, I've seen 44 world cup weekends with skeleton, and 2 man/4 man bobsled, and have also seen races in Igls Austria, and St Moritz, I would be considered a skeleton /Bobsled Junky
Why did the woman flip off at 3:00? So we get 2 flipoffs for the price of one! Also i like watching these but then why does youtube recommend me curling?
C'est un sport de haut niveau très intéressant à voir et spectaculaire .... Mais il semble extrêmement dangereux comme tous ces sports de glisse sur glace à grande vitesse. Bravo on adore 👍👍👍👍
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you barred from doing another run if you become completely disconnected from the sled? Why wouldn't she try to hang on?
Russians are well known for their airborne capabilities at this sport. This one innovates going BACKWARDS in her sled. Besides, Ольга Викторовна Потылицына is a solid competitor in the sport. She deserves the respect for her performance at the sport.
What I fear everytime i watch these crash vids is the athletes getting their legs caught on a corner bank and ends up snapping their bone. It doesnt take a lot to snap one trust me, I fell from a height of 5’3” (my short ass height) and broke my forearm clean in half
Olga was recently banned from the Russian skeleton team for violations of "anti-doping" laws, which one would assume would have to do with performance enhancing drugs but the sneaky Russians refuse to even acknowledge what they mean by "anti-doping." So I feel very bad for her. The commentators on this even say she's a relatively new athlete who would have had potential in 5-6 years. Well here it is 5-6 years later and she's been banned for life. :(
It takes a special kind of crazy person to do this. They call it skeleton for a reason. One slip and your head/neck/spine is in something and compressed at 70-90 mph. That helmet isn’t making a damn difference.
So you are sliding down an ice half-tube at over 100kph HEAD FIRST, trying to avoid getting hit by all that steel structure and get KILLED, which happened already to quite a few "athletes". How is that called a sport? That's spectator suicide.
Well you're sliding down a half-pipe made out of ice, the only "steel structure" is above and around that half-pipe. This is a sport because it requires a lot of discipline and practice to cross the finish at the bottom without losing control of your sled during curves in the track. You say things about getting killed, but with every sport, there is always a risk of injury and/or death. American Football players suffer brain damage from constantly bumping heads with each other, hockey players get slammed into the wall or onto the ice all the time, Skiier's and snowboarders always at risk of falling down the slope the wrong way. I guess you can call those sports "spectator suicides" too since the professional players often die prematurely due to injuries they got playing.
😂 I had to fart because I had to laugh that hard. 🤣 Thanks, you made my day. (because I didn't know if I should stand up or just stay in bed and watch stuff like that on UA-cam;-)
I have now entered a completely new galaxy of youtube content. it all started with the korean team crashing and now im here
It's the same for me :D
welcome friends I too wander among the speedy ice mishaps
How did we fall into this trap?
I watched some gal run over a hat and now this is all I get.
Voix de la raison watch the one that runs over a broom

And the missing bib
The reason why I'm here is not the broom, no.... It was lady who missed her sled. But I know... broom is waiting for me... and someday we'll meet...

One day you will find both of the broom videos.
Maybe there are even more of them, but I am only aware of two

How did I get here? I gotta find what I watched before I got here, but why did UA-cam think I would like this? How did it know? I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!
0:42 Over-corrected here and then started divergent oscillation.
Now what would've been cool is if she stood up, surfed it as she switched back around, then continued her run like a boss

Atleast she didnt smack her head on the I beam like Nodar
Awesome. Did she get points for riding backwards?
in the circuit of sled crashes this is pretty unusual. it can't be done with a bobsled (i think)
why all those steel H-Beams inches away from the track at the exit of those turns !?
oh god will the sled crash videos recommendations ever end? i dont know but until then ill enjoy them

The sport itself is not doing great 👎

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you barred from doing another run if you become completely disconnected from the sled? Why wouldn't she try to hang on?
Yes I too think letting go is better than going down backwards

This wouldn’t have happened if there was a broom on the track
