I love your use of Phillipians 2:14-15, I was reading through Phillipians a few weeks back and it's a verse that I clung to. I've been really unhappy with my job for a long time now and have done a lot of complaining. But that verse made me realize that even though it makes me unhappy, I don't find my joy in a job. I find my joy in my identity as a child of God and complaining puts me in a position to be criticized, especially being a Christian. Great message, Alex.

I'm still confused whether I belong to God or not. How do I KNOW God has given me His spirit to reside in me? I keep looking for concrete evidence I can point to, something undeniable that'll put all fears and doubts to rest because surely it exists somewhere, after all, God ensured there'd be evidence to back up everything in the Bible. People say my heart should be able to tell me the answers, but it never says anything. Even when I was struggling with serious doubt about my faith 6 years ago searching for the truth, I ended up being led away from it and God. Surely there's something noticeably different about God's chosen ones, right? It's not just, "good people" because lots of people have the Fruit of the Spirit like love, joy and peace but they're not necessarily Christian or saved, so, is it simpler than I think? Just don't turn my back on God when things get tough? I can't trust my own thoughts and feelings! Heck, my body doesn't even tell me when it's hungry, so how am I supposed to know I'm saved and that my heart believes not just my head?
I'm praying for you, sounds like a really difficult situation. James1:2-4. The various trials we go through produce endurance. you may not understand it but God's ways are not our ways. This promise reminds us that God doesn’t leave us to navigate our struggles alone but walks with us through them, offering His strength and protection. It's okay to have moments of doubt and to ask questions. These don’t make your faith any less real or valuable. In fact, they can lead to a deeper, more authentic relationship with God as you seek Him in the midst of your doubts. Remember, Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, had his moments of doubt, yet Jesus met him right where he was, offering him the proof he needed. God’s heart is no different towards us today. Stay with him and he’ll stay with you no matter the circumstances, secondly the Lord works on his timing not ours. Ephesians 6:18 - “Pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Hi Alex, I am a believer for over 20 years and the last 5 years am now working as a Ceramicist. I work with fire and with clay, so it is unsurprising that the passages about refining, burning and fire prick my ear. What is the purpose of fire with clay? What does it mean when God chooses to burn us up? Why does he not need to use fire for the good seed? Is the good news really, "God loves you so much, that if you reject or have never heard of this great love (in Jesus as our Saviour), he is going to use fire to inflict pain unending on your physical body?". Do we Christians really believe that our loving Heavenly Father (apparently full of mercy and grace), is a psycho? Do you really tell people, "Jesus died so you do not need to be punished physically with literal fire for an unending period of time".
"Suffering allows you to be detached from the rest of the world, and attached to Him." - Amen!!
