I was lucky enough to lunch with Diana some years ago in Vancouver, BC. For a pianist she has a fantastic appetite. It’s no wonder E. Costello was intrigued and attracted. Talented gal and big eater.
Let's face it...most things that Diana Krall does turns into magic. But, I must admit, that I miss her piano playing in this song. Her playing brings every song that she does to another level, and when it's not around, you notice.
Diana Krall is a fine jazz pianist-which I miss in this.Still I love Her rendition of this.She is married to Elvis Castillo and has twin boys.She is from Canada.Its Nifty how many fine singers are from Canada."The Look Of Love"(hot tub version) is a very nice video & song."Quiet Nights"(bamboo version)is one of My favorites.It has terrific scenery & lyrics.Love You Diana.It was so nice to know that You & Gloria Estefan are good friends.In MY Heart & Prayers.
She may not have Ella's or Mama Cass' vocals but her basses take you into the song and wrap you up.. , she's a true voice. She reveals her soul everytime She sings, no filters. Great job.
There is an emerging consensus among Women and Men of Science, propelled by a multitude of longitudinal studies, that canadian whiskey may measurably deepen the baritone range. I wonder if perhaps this mechanism isn't among the factors at work. . . B-)
Interesting that she doesn't play piano on this one. Great support by bass and guitar and cool modulation at the end. The young Diana does quite well singing this one. I really like her take on music, she is a real musician.
