My father got it today. Surgeon used DaVinci for Esophagectomy. The surgery went well. Thank you for creating this awesome machine to assist surgeons. 🙏
@@sundayvictor4367 I haven't watch this video yet, Ill do it latter but this video seems to be the same as this: ua-cam.com/video/vujHGPhpebc/v-deo.html (which was uploaded a couple months ago) Here are the other videos about this robot: 1 ua-cam.com/video/_aJhNXXWmq0/v-deo.html&t : 2 ua-cam.com/video/8z0oJR9S1Ps/v-deo.html
This video is a re-upload of a previous version that had a scene with blood in it that got age-restricted on UA-cam, so we had to re-edit it. We also have done a few other videos on the topic.
I had surgery earlier this year by this robot pretty insane to think robots can help I made a full recovery within 2weeks also I had the choice of getting my abdomen completely opened but because of this robot I have coin size cuts and recovery was fast. This is the future!
I believe Intuitive should create a spinoff company (or license their technology) to create a simplified system that uses VR headsets and a smaller robot for non-medical uses. The market would be far bigger and less regulated, allowing economies of scale and alternate uses of existing IP to bring prices down. I would love to have a system like this for phone repair - you need the dexterity and vision enhancement as much as a surgeon, without the risk and safety concerns. Just the electronics repair business would probably dwarf the medical applications in volume.
This is a stepping stone to something greater. At some point we might hopefully allow AI to learn from surgeons how to perform these robotic surgeries. A surgeon can only learn from the few other surgeons they meet, and have extremely limited practice. AI can practice all day every day in simulations, and learn from every surgeon on the planet all at once, and take the best skills and techniques from all of them. At a certain point human skill in these life-or-death industries, especially healthcare, will hopefully become redundant and we'll have 100% success rates in surgeries.
It would dangerous for humanity to lose those skills though. Imagine a cyber attack, supply chain jam, solar flare or something else happens that makes it impossible to use the technology. Suddenly there will be a lot of people who need the service but no one who remembers how to do it by hand.
@@zinjanthropus322 I'm sorry, what? 🤨 This is not something that can be done by hand in the first place. This robotic surgery requires software and electronics either way. A cyber attack, supply chain shortage or solar flare would still affect this. Having AI would make no difference. Also none of those scenarios are likely, especially in the health industry.
@@The_Cyber_System Surgery is currently done by hand. A good surgeon with a kitchen knife, some alcohol and a sewing kit can save a life. With the introduction of AI and robotic surgeons, those human skills are likely to atrophy. Something that would come back to bite us if anything ever happens to stop the machines from operating.
I agree with @TodayPerson but i would also like to mention that in the field of surgery i am a little bit hesitant to let the AI completely takeover and i think the most beneficial form of relation will only exist when there is perfect synchronised relation between the surgeon and the robot. I mean to say that in the near future robots are allowed to operate but only in the presence of a certified surgeon. Independent robotic surgery is still something i am not very sure about.
Robots can still be helpful in the case of diagnostic medicine. I think that this field is one of the most beneficial field in which robots can allowed to work independently.
Just like how NASA launches were highly in efficient, I'm sure this is drastically over priced. Most things he mentioned are literally done by the PS5 now lol.
I think these robots need some AI for Autoaim like feature in games. Humans are lazy and sometimes the delayed input is the fatigued mind of the surgeon.
It's been well documented poor & limited training in the healthcare industry with these robotic surgeries have killed patients. This is a hard pass for me .
You should throw all this robotic stuff to the next junkyard as fast as possible. The human body is no computer game! Every surgeon who's operating with a robot should lost his probation cause for me he's no surgeon anymore but an overpaid machine user. Robots mustn't be use on human bodies. Also there's no feedback for the surgeon cause he doesn't feel what he's doing. And btw, there's absolutly no improvement for the patient cause minimal invasive surgery is nothing new!
Would you get robotic surgery?
Absolutely

HELL YEAH
I DID three days ago!
ABSOLUTY NOT!
Isn't this a re-upload? I swear I've seen this before. Still an awesome video though!
I think it is. But would be epic to have a surgery done with these.

I had Da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery three days ago, THANK YOU Da Vinci !!!
Money and resources should be invested in such things that help humanity. Like this.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear your recovery went well.
Please fixed the caption of this wonderful video, the words doesn't align even for the auto English caption
Thanks for the heads up!
Should be all good now!

there is a hospital a few towns over from mine, that got Davinci 2-3 years ago.
it is some amazing, over the top technology .
Yes but, how do I build it
For myself. Just to surge around with at home
Now we just need universal heathcare
Or at the very least just increase Medicare to be the default option in the Obama-care store.
Need ai neural network that can remove the surgeon entirely
@@tophat2002 It would likely just be another doctor on staff because we're always going to have experts and people who want to do certain things.
Made me happy of this technology
This is one of the best channel I subbed to but unfortunately it only has so few subs

Its going to be pricey until demand goes up.
@@wovasteengova I mean these are for specialist, and they have industrial ratings, so it's a bit different.
Some day surgeons would also get thrown away itl be all robots.
So what?! If it increases the surgeries' rate of success, it's worth it! That's what technology is supposed to do, improve our lives!
bros trying to turn us into the Borg from star trek
Imagine it glitches lol

Put LLM mind on top of it, train it on what to do and you will replace surgeons!
Reeves already made this
It's been well documented poor & limited training in the healthcare industry with these robotic surgeries have killed patients.
This is a hard pass for me .
Our hands are not imprecise
Try doing microsurgery. For example, a micro-anastomosis. Yes, your hands are imprecise.
To large..
