Poor Rumpel. I hope he feels better soon. I was thinking it might be possible to add some sort of railings to the walkways so that it would be harder for a cat to fall. Kind of like you might put a safety rail on a toddler's bed. Of course it all depends on how the walkways are attached to the walls/ceilings. It might even be possible to make the railings removable for cleaning, or for grabbing naughty kitties who are trying to avoid taking meds or whatever. (I always thought if I had room it would be fun to have walk ways for my kitties at home. But guaranteed if I did, when it came time for the annual vet visit I'd have 2 cats in the most hard to reach parts of the walkway mocking me for not being able to get them in their carriers. LOL)

He fell from the cat walk that is up close to the ceiling. He broke a bone at the knee joint where a growth plate is. It is very hard to repair. They may need to amputate the leg. He is on pain medication and resting in a back room. There were no other injuries.
I was watching when it happened. It was so scary. So glad it didn't happen when nobody was there.

I'm sorry to hear this news - then Sparrow (since adopted) and Dagda have managed well on three legs. I'll hope for the best.
