- 2018 was a landmark year for Francesco Molinari, winning his first major title at The 147th Open Championship at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.
Paired with Tiger Woods in the final round, the Italian shot a 69 to finish eight under par, holding off Kevin Kisner, Justin Rose, Xander Schauffele and 2014 Champion Rory McIlroy, to lift the Claret Jug.

Molinari is my 2nd favorite golfer ever. Gene Ferrell is my favorite tour player. Gene and I were pretty good friends here in Mobile, Alabama. Gene and the gang had a few beers on my tailgate the day before he passed. He wasn't sick. His death was sudden. I loved that left-handed, fast-talking joker and he loved me. One day later I got that awful phone call.
He taught me things that you will never see in "Golf Digest" or youtube videos. We were just good friends. I could go on and on about "Gene-isms". Gene was my favorite tour pro. I miss him. The entire golf community in Mobile misses him. He was a good natured man that didn't have a bad bone in his body. I guess we all have to meet our maker eventually.

It should probably say "Every televised shot". They can only show what was recorded mate. They can't show what they ain't got 🤷♂️🙂
