Solid top tier bikes and can’t go wrong w either. From someone who also owns the new Trek Madone absolutely agree with review. I’ve change tires to gp5000 str and titanium bottle cages. Got annoyed w filling them aero bottles lol. Salute my guy 🤙🏽
@Pedal_Ton, thanks for the reply. Both bikes are amazing but I give the edge to Trek for the overall ability to stay fast and climb fast. While the Tarmac shines brighter as an overall performer that seems better equipped to serve as an endurance bike as well. I supposed I could also put some Pirelli Race Pro 32mm on the Tarmac and see if that makes a difference.
@livingstonest thanks for the comment...honestly, you can flip a coin as far as which one is more fun for the overall feeling. But for the pure speed and climbing and looks, it's the Madone. The Tarmac does everything equally well and doesn't have one thing that makes it excel over another. But with the Madone, Trek did well to combine the old Madone and Emonda into a single bike. You made the right decision on the Gen 8. Which specific model did you get?
Thanks for review. Very informative. I got SL7 gen 8 silver with red accents. Changed the wheels to enve 3.4 with GP5000. Saddle to power pro mirror. And bike fit. Absolutely loving it now. I’m only new to sport 3 months. Done about 1000km now.
@@livingstonest Awesome! I almost got that version, too! Loved the red accents. Nice wheelset you chose also. Looks like you got some good upgrades. Be on the lookout for some new posts when I talk about Shimano Ultegra vs. SRAM Force, and also installing Keo Look 2 Carbon pedals.

@@doctor-d-rose69nice! What power meter are you currently using?
@@livingstonest SRAM Force DUB, it came with Tarmac. No power meter on Madone.
