I still remember back in the 90's when Todd McFarlane was on a series called The Comic Book Greats and he asked Rob Liefeld "Did you pay for that haircut?" That had me rolling hard. I love his business mindset in giving as much value for the best price to his customers. He's always been about giving a lot of value whether its in his art or now with making toys.
But he doesn’t give as much value as possible in his toy line. 1 or 2 accessories? And they’re pretty bad quality. Single jointed elbows for Superman? That’s not value at $20. Jazwares Fortnite line has 40 POA , at least 4 accessories, great paint, great sculpt, all at $20. Todd doesn’t do that.
Thomas Pollock That would be fantastic! I think Hasbro last had the toy license for it back in the mid-late 90's, as I remember buying a goosebumps scarecrow action figure that came in a bag of slime at some magic trick shop within Walt Disney world back in the summer of 1998. The assortment also included the Dummy, the horned green monster, and the teacher that was a monster. Hasbro also made Goosebumps micro play sets in their microverse toy line but one of them, a monster theme park, was cancelled and unreleased, but then repurposed and remolded into a new micro playset for the Microverse Batman & Robin movie toy line.
@@TheRobotAssassin I didn't know that! I'll have to look into it and see if I can find some images. Thanks. But I'm sure McFarlane would crush it if he had the opportunity!
Thomas Pollock This guy on UA-cam has and reviews the unreleased prototype: ua-cam.com/video/WVO2s_n2oIg/v-deo.html The Microcverse Batman & Robin "Arctic Gotham" playset is made from this playset. So if you want to experience almost the same thing, with pretty much the same gimmicks but with a Batman flavor, you can buy that playset.
My dreamlist of DCM by Mcfarlane to make would be: - Firestorm - Blue beetle and Booster gold - Captain atom - Dr. Fate (Earth 2) - Etrigan - Martian manhunter (New 52) - Huntress (Hush) - Black canary - Arsenal - Flash Wally west (Rebirth) And this is only for good guys xD
This interview is awesome. Thank you Pixel Dan for allowing us to get to know Todd McFarlane better. He’s really a cool dude. I loved everything he shared. 👌🏼
Ooh, nice job, Dan! I backed the Spawn 3-pack. I have to admit that I haven't really kept up with the character over the years, but I was a big fan for the first few and the character holds a special place in my heart.
Lucky Todd didn’t turn into a hell spawn on that lending license to another toy maker question. Never saw Dan get so close to death. All jokes aside great interview. I love that Todd is a figure maker of the people. What a legend.
So here's the deal back in the day me and my buddy were only 13 and not allowed to watch the HBO Spawn cartoon so he'd sit near mirror and switch the channel if somebody came up the hallway ahh the good ole days!
Todd is the reason I got into comics because of his Spider-man art. I love that he went in with other creators to create Image Comics which still supports independent creators to this day.
It's sucks that the Star Trek line didn't do well i was hoping it would and i want to get the rest of the crews from both the original show and the next generation
The Dragons line is one of the lines that I bought *every* single figure of. I remember back when new waves would hit Walmart, and I'd go in, pick up the full set, or buy them at the comic shop, find the deluxe box set of that wave...ugh it was all so awesome. They're absolutely fantastic. If he ever goes back to that, then I'd totally buy in.
Love those chats you guys have with Todd Mcfarlane and that we as fans get to hear them as well. They are very informative and entertaining as we are forced to remain in quarantine. Sad to hear that the Star Trek line didn't work out very well i was hoping to get more of the especially the crew from the original TV show maybe he can try to revisit this toy line later or launch another crowd funding to raise the money for them to be made. I am really looking forward to getting make new masterworks spawn figures and I can't wait to what they do with the other characters from their first toy line such as :Midieval Spawn and violator. I am hoping that when they get to both :The Tremor and Overtkill they toward over spawn like they do in the comic books. They should be be freaking huge and that's my only wish. I don't think these figures should have that much articulations I think 15 or so would be enough. Any way great interview hope you can get him to do more
Cool interview, can’t wait to get my Spawn figure. I look forward to McFarlane Toys bringing back the Movie Maniacs line, I have quite a few of those and look forward to getting more.
Was hoping he would of asked him if he's going to bring back the movie maniacs line and if so when. I loved with that line we would get movie characters that we would never normally see in action figure form kinda suprise he didn't get into that
I’m still not totally sold on the DC Multiverse line. I’m glad he’s doing new things like the Armored Batman and Superman figures. However I’m concerned that this line will just be a bunch of Batman and possibly Superman centric figures. For example, we now have 3 of the Justice League Animated figures...are they going to finish at least the core team? Is the Arrow figure the only one being done for the tv universe? And how does it do the line any favors when Batman figures are warming at every store in my area? It just seems like they are just putting random figures out with no real rhyme or reason.
That's what turned me off the line, it's nothing but Batmans. And not even villains, it's just Bat-variants and they're now showing off two or three waves total...and it's juuust more Batmen.
Nobody ever asks about My Hero Academia. I hope they do a giant Mount Lady through the kickstarter. Would also like some Scooby-Doo figures from McFarlane.
If Todd wants to get back to doing what he did back in the day then bring back Warriors of the Zodiac and Legend of The Blade Hunters! I'd love to see those lines finally get finished up. I remember seeing amazing figures that never got released. They need a chance.
Great interview. It was very interesting when Todd talked about Toys R Us and KB Toys being happy to stock a product that Wal-Mart refused to carry. Flash forward to now, and sadly, Wal-Mart rules the world. I am extremely interested to see what other licences McFarlane will get to down the road. I've grown bored with Superheroes and I'm more about Sword & Sorcery stuff now.
On D.C. Figures: "...Doing more figures that arguably have never been done before....super man in armor, Batman in armor." Me: YES! So happy they're doing figures of characters and costumes we've never had as a figure!👍 THANK YOU TODD!🙏👏👏👏
Love the man! It totally makes sense to do a Kickstarter campaign for this "of the charts" Spawn figure but it's kinda hard for peoples outside of America (and there is a lot of fan there) because shipping + fees make the all thing very expressive 😢 I wish I could buy it at my local retailer for a decent price. I mean, the KS price is more than decent and I can add shipping without question but the customs fees in my country are ridiculously high and all the thing would be more than twice the starting price...
I love the Harry Potter toy line, just that Ron and Hermoine are impossible to find, theres a flood of Harry and no other figures. I've only seen the one Voldemort that I got.
WW McFarlane Kickstarter Campaign on Spawn Animated Series, exactly in the look of the first 10 books, would be amazing. Would need the Budget of a Hollywood Project, but would be a Signature.
McFarlane made the best Halo figures, would love to see them tackle Legend of Zelda. Imagine super articulated Twilight Princess Ganondorf figure by McFarlane
The idea of revisiting Movie Maniacs is interesting but a lot of those are in the hands of NECA and no one is gonna kickstart a Freddy or Jason now. Also I'd really like Violator to be the next Spawn figure on kickstarter.
Yes we can’t wait for all these toys - I had pre-ordered my hell bat Batman and Amazon cancelled it but I’m glad to see all the mcfarlane toys are back up for orders , #SuperHyped
Man I'd love for Mcfarlane to redo the crappy Mattel DCEU figures with Mcfarlane's awesome sculpt and articulation. Imagine a BVS wave of Superman, Regular Batfleck, Knightmare Batman, Armoured Batman and Battle Damaged Armoured Batman with Doomsday BAF.
Mcfarlane toys were the truth back in the day. He's still killing it now. I got in on that kickstarter day one. As far as DC movie characters- Personally - I'd like to see a 4 pack with Linda Carter's WW, Christopher Reeve's Superman, Michael Keaton's Batman, and John Wesley Schipp's Flash. Maybe throw in Helen Slattery's Supergirl and Shaq's Steel if you're feeling frisky. Also, I could get behind a two pack of Spawn and Batman from that 90's crossover that he drew.

Please Todd more Cyberpunk 2077 figures. Go nice and deep. Female V and Jackie Welles for wave 2. 1/6 Scale spawn figures on parr with Hot Toys would be top sellers.
First few offerings are nice but while the figures arrived on time, the game was delayed, so much for a media tie in. Now we wait for September and see how that does for my Cyberpunk figs.
And they're not going to do it because Todd McFarlane said so but next year I'm going to do a toy fair interview with himand I'm going to ask him everything that he going to do and I'll ask him if he can make action figures of some lines

How cool is Todd that he takes the time to give everyone an interview. Just a big nerd at heart...and it’s awesome. God bless you Mr.McFarlane.

I would love to see some highly detailed McFarlane Goosebumps Books monsters... Scarecrow walks at Midnight, Ghost Beach, Slappy, etc.
That would be so dope
That would be pretty cool to see. Also pretty quick reads if he wanted to familiarize himself

I really like the sculpting and paint apps on the MK11 Spawn figure, I’d love to see that applied more to the DC Multiverse figures
Why does no one ask him about friggin violator?
Ooh, nice job, Dan! I backed the Spawn 3-pack. I have to admit that I haven't really kept up with the character over the years, but I was a big fan for the first few and the character holds a special place in my heart.
You made my day, Dan... thank you!
I love how Todd run his business
Great to be private company. You do WHAT YOU WANT lol

Awesome interview! Well done as always! 😃👍 (and love your toy displays!)
Todd's a great guy that seems to value people's time, money, and fandom. Great video!

LOVING all this Todd stuff! I respect the hell out of him. Can't wait for this set.

22:37 thanks for asking the Star Trek figures question. So I‘m waiting for the next try after One:12 Collective and McFarlane. 😁
It's sucks that the Star Trek line didn't do well i was hoping it would and i want to get the rest of the crews from both the original show and the next generation
That's all I wanted to know about. I don't care about any other Mcfarlane line. Next.
hoping for the 7 inch medieval spawnlike the spawn from kickstarter and many other hellspawns in that scale.

Todd "the man" Mcfarlane hopefully this shows him we want spawn in his comic accurate costume in the movie :)
One of the best in the business! I love seeing stuff like this!
I wish he would do a sixth scale figure
Great interview with The Toddfather!
Man I want Todd to do some Swamp Thing figures!! His horror sculpts historically have been so good and we have never gotten anything in the Rot!
Dan thanks for the awesome interview with Todd
Hell yeah, great interview Dan!
Cool interview, can’t wait to get my Spawn figure. I look forward to McFarlane Toys bringing back the Movie Maniacs line, I have quite a few of those and look forward to getting more.

Nobody ever asks about My Hero Academia. I hope they do a giant Mount Lady through the kickstarter. Would also like some Scooby-Doo figures from McFarlane.
Joao Angel yeah I always feel sad when they do that. The my hero line is what introduced me to Mcfarlane toys
Awesome interview 🤓🤘

Put in for my spawn remake figure today. Can't wait til November!!
I really hope Todd is able to continue with the WarHammer 40K line. I would love to see some Tau figures.

I guess Target gave him some more shelf space for that Batman Year 2 with giant cape. 🧐 34:24
JOHN WESLEY SHIPP FLASH. Todd, we need a JOHN WESLEY SHIPP FLASH!
