- Over the course of the last 3 or so months, the Mr. Incredible becoming Uncanny meme has been sucked completely dry of all originality and humor. These memes aren't funny, and yet kids and toddlers seem to disagree. There have been several channels that are getting big by milking this meme, the biggest one being a channel by the name of Mr Dweller. This video is an analysis and critique of the absolutely soulless mediocrity he's been putting out.

@poi 23 At the end of the day, BTM's content is pretty harmless and all he did is just explaining a meme and nothing else, so does LIMC (except he explained it in a professional way). MrDweller, in the other hand, made worst content I've ever seen that it's just as bad as Elsagate.
The whole idea of the "meme killing" just because one explained a joke is pretty dumb.
@@poi-tl1nxExcept memes aren't even an inside joke, it's just spread across the Internet so trying to gatekeep the memes really defeats the purpose of what it was originally intended (aka to spread from person to person within the culture). Most memes died off if it's not popular anymore, or just beating the dead horse out of it (just like what this DrDweller guy doing in the video). It's not like BTM or LIMC's fault for that to happen though, whether if it's well-researched or not.
“The Man behind the Cringe”, I think this would fit better
One just tried to explain what memes were, in spite of the implications.

I guess if Behind the Meme focused on memes that were long past funny and this had no chance of getting ruined he would’ve got some kind of pass.

Maybe if Behind The Meme took some criticism and maybe improved his content as well as not relied on the KnowYourMeme website as a source, then I think he would get a better decision, but still doesn't mean the controversy stopped, let alone the doxxing and death threats that most of the trolls had thrown to him. Upon his return, I think his content improved a lot while retaining the colorful quality like the old days.
Whoever still believes in the "explaining a meme = the meme is dead" mindset really needs to get over it and that said mindset needs to die off. Give BTM a break.

I thought the Mr. Incredible meme was pretty alright back when it first showed up. I'd seen a few memes in the format that I thought were legitimately clever. Of course, the more people use a meme, the more it gets dumbed down and simplified so that people can attempt to monetise it. I think a large problem with the speed at which memes nowadays die is that, back in the old days, a lot of the OG memes started out as an inside joke among a group of friends. That's why they lasted so long. Because they were created as a product of a small group of friends who were able to work their own individual senses of humour off each others and create something they knew they would all find funny because of how well they understood each other. That kind of authenticity isn't something you can just synthesize. It has to be born.

I’m probably going to get burnt at the stake for saying this, but I personally believe that memes don’t really die from overuse so much as they “die” from poor use. Call me old fashioned, but I still use a lot of categorically “dead” memes and potentially even find them funny depending on how others use them.

The Mr. Incredible becoming uncanny meme will never be old to me. It may not be funny to me, but I enjoy it for reasons other than humor, such as it being a useful tool for ranking how bad things are. And the later phases, especially phases 11-18 and beyond, I enjoy because I like the horror of it.
Same here honestly. It's just interesting to learn some disturbing stuff from time to time.
I never found the mr incredible becoming uncanny meme as funny, I found it best as a different version of the iceberg meme, where its just a dive into something that allows you to discover new stuff about that particular subject

I have some very bad news, I've
just recently encountered another meme channel that is considerably worse than Mr. Dweller. And that channel is Doctor Horror, he essentially makes the same Mr Incredibles becomes uncanny meme but takes it a step further. That being he litterally uses uncensored and censored
R34/NSFW images in his videos and thumbnails.
What's worse that his channel is still active and he still uploads said content, why is UA-cam doing nothing to stop this channel? not to mention that most of his viewer's are underage children

In alot of humor there is supposed to be a "random" or "unpredictable" element to it (which I never understood why some disregard that type humor. Like what do you want a normal expected sentence?). I now remember how much I loved the absurd Uncle Grandpa, because the delivery of the absurd jokes satisfied me in some way - there was a pair of in-between scenes where Uncle Grandpa questions the words "Uncle Grandpa" written on the screen, and Mr. Gus says that it's the magic of words. I was left wondering if this would continue in the next IBScene, and it did, with UG dressed up as wizard breaking down the text to "ULEGAPA". Then a monster walks in and says "Hey, I'm Ulegapa! I want my money back!" That was one of the greatest laughs in my life.

It's strange, the entire point of Mr. Incredible memes was in a way its predictability. You weren't there to have your expectations wildly subverted or for something to come out of left field. It was a condensed, meme-ified version of going down an online rabbit hole, the humor and enjoyment of the Mr. Incredible memes was seeing how insane the rabbit hole became the further you went down it with him. People have done amazing things with this format, the user literally named "Bimbo" comes to mind as someone who made memes that were genuinely unnerving the deeper it went because - much like a real rabbit hole - the trivia or information provided became more deranged and disturbing as it progressed.
Mr. Dweller on the other hand seems to have taken the approach of "random = funny" which just doesn't work with the format. Random humor _CAN_ be entertaining, but that's not what the Mr. Incredible format is about.
I remember one in particular that was unexpected and self aware.

And then it just became another meme entirely.

I feel like the same thing happened with the trollge meme. It started off as a really creative way to bring back trollface, and had many good videos with unique twists in them. However, the trollge videos slowly started having less of an actual original plot and more pure shock value. Aside from some dedicaded small channels that make good trollge incidents and seemed to use internet explorer as their browser, eventually trollge incidents were just content farms.

You’re supposed to start out with a good mr incredible and by the end he should be a sad troll face. This is all thrown out the window by Mr Dweller. All you see on his channel is stuff that makes absolutely no sense and is has flat out no content. I’ve lost brain cells by watching his content.

The Mr. Incredible meme is one that I really appreciated when it was relevant. Imo it kinda got old once people started putting trollge in it for whatever reason. I figured the point was that it was Mr. Incredible steadily becoming more and more disturbing looking, randomly putting another meme character in for no reason felt like it defeated the whole purpose of the meme. MrDweller is absolutely the prime example of why the meme got old
Back then, I’ve only enjoyed Mr Incredibles memes about disturbing facts because at least it’s somewhat informative and educational, but when MrDweller come along, everything goes downhill from there.
