My thoughts precisely. Just started looking for a suitable alternative to disposable quartz. A serviceable quartz such as Ronda5030.d? Or Miyoya? Or Seiko? A mechanical chronograph that fits the case of my PRC200?
The movement is not repairable, but watches with it are. For $65, the movement can be replaced. The hardest part is either removing the stem or opening the watch case. Te rest of the replacement is not too bad.
This why I like seiko movements more ! Like the seiko flightmaster movement 7T34. It easily runs 20 years and is fixable. This ETA is not a bad movement….I like the Seiko’s more .
I would not want to keep using a 20 year old quartz movement. As technology advances so does accuracy. The fact that these movements can’t be worked on is completely irrelevant. They don’t require service, other than a battery change, because they gears are not under any significant load. The wear on any moving parts is almost nil. My G10.211 is currently running at about 6 seconds or so fast per year. It is not thermocompensated. MyG10.212 is currently running about 3 seconds a month fast. Again, this beats Seiko movements at this price point by a county mile.
@@GustoTheGamer I have never had a quartz movement fail in 30 years other than a change of battery. In addition, the G10.211 and .212 are more accurate than the Seiko quartz movements. Repairable or not is a non issue. I have news for you as well. Even mechanical watches often have their movements replaced rather than repaired. More and more companies drop in a fresh or already serviced movement in your watch. Then they service the removed movement and use it later for another repair.
Wow Ronda 5000 series has this beat!! (Pun Intended) seriously though, Ronda you can repair it. I enjoy the ETA autos I have but this just makes me sad to see a Swiss company make such sub par movements as this. Great Video though!
Yeah, it's also fitted on my formula 1 and kinda pisses me off that tag has the balls to charge 1k for a watch with a cheap movement. Still mine still works after 8 years, but I have mechs over 50 in my collection that also works.
I think you will get everything in the video. Please see this again. And if you don’t get then please tell me what you mean that put it all back in the place.
@@SolimBD I mean, you had to break the plastic plate holders, so I guess you used some kind of glue to assemble? And if you did, of what kind and in which points you used. Thank you for taking the time to awnser :)
It its starting to fall apart even if you fix one part you can expect the rest to fail pretty soon. It's neither financially or technically worth the trouble to try and repair it.
Indeed, I find it scandalous. I understand I may expect such attitude in some Chinese watches, but expect more from those "Swiss made". As otherwise, what is the point to buy Swiss if similar quality may be bought at a fraction of cost from China?
they could've made it easily repairable, yet they choose not to. like seriously, the whole concept of Swatch being a bunch of disposable watches just doesn't sit right for me 😕 if cheap Casios can be easily repairable, then that just doesn't justify it's swiss counterpart for being hardly repairable for 2-4 times the price of a Casio
@@michaelowen8055 add the cost to replace vs the real value of an used watch vs a brand new watch... also compare this to a Miyota movement... usually those watches end up on a trash bin
Oh no....🙈🙈....such cheap plastic base plates and permanently fixed plastic moulds and joints. Looked like small capacitors and all are linked with thin pcb liners. It's totally an electronic junk. 🤔🤭😱. Can't imagine , so much expensive watches with lovely chronograph interfaces on dials, highly priced....huhuhuh

Maybe not the most expensive ETA Movement (or the best one) but still a work of art from an engineering perspective!
Thanks
Then, this is a bad engineering 😅
How to assemble this movement again please upload a video
not possible because this movement not use any screw
it last me 10 years,I was expecting more for the price.
I wonder if there is some other better movement I can fit on my Tissot
Look at eta 251 series

Hello, could you tell me where the 4 jewels that the lid indicates are, I can't see them.
Look around the 8:40 Mark. You'll see two plates. There's a jewel on top and another on the bottom of the wheel. That's the 4 jewels.
DID YOU GET IT BACK TOGETHER?
No
Thank you! one of the chrono dials is acting up on my Tissot and this shows me that it is not servicable, thanks for sharing!
Ist das Uhrwerk gestanzt?
Plastikguss. Die blechplatten sind mein einem Laser ausgeschnitten.
Unglaublich einfach nur Plastikschrott und das für 250€ einfach nur schlimm. Man zahlt bei der Uhr nur den Namen speedmaster .
is this yellow tears gold?
Gold plated

Hi
It satisfied my curiosity to know what's inside. Thanks.
What was wrong by the way with the movement?
Not repairable
I have one which runs slow like 12 hours slow in a day. Seems to not run smooth. Makes me wonder what could do that. Though sadly not repairable

Much more complicated than I thought.
What is the point? It cannot be re-assembled.
There are no screws on this machine

Was wondering if it can be re assembled by putting kind of glue on those points?
