Hearing Bode and Kata sing this together fucking broke me man 😭😭
It’ll be nice to hear Cal and Kata sing Ghost Star together than Bode and Kata.
I’m literally balling my eyes out thinking back on this. 😔
The version with Bode and Kata really hits different. I wish things could've been different.
That shit made me sad man, he was different person singing that song.
@Jon What is really sad is the fact that he clearly loved his daughter while singing this song, but shortly after, he was so far gone that he hurt here while fighting Cal. Like Anakin, his main priority was protecting the ones he loved, but embracing the dark side led to him losing everything. Only this time, Kata has to live with that pain. In his efforts to keep her safe, he became the biggest threat to her safety.
Bode sacrificed everything for his daughter, including his own life.
@Sin of Avarice No, his death was not a sacrifice for her. It was a selfish way out. A sacrifice would have been to lay down his pride and accept that he can't give her a good life on his own. Everything he did started with good motivations, but by that last fight he was pushing Kata around with no regard for her physical or mental well-being, and he refused her pleas for him to stop. He channeled the dark side and was corrupted by it, just like Anakin who ended up getting corrupted and killing Padme after trying to save her.
So does cal rip bode the pos
I feel like the song is a reflection of everything that has happened
I got the impression that this song was something the Jedi who survived order 66 sang for hope or something lol
The "ghost star" is obviously a representation of her mother
@@kai9755 dang I lowkey do think of order 66 when this song is played
@@ZealouswolfNZ yeah, GamingWins gave a pretty nice explanation about it, a ghost star is a star whose light you see but who is in fact already dead, and that’s the effect her mother has on them. Plus in the last version Bode straight up replaces “ghost star” with her name
I love how Kata immediately sells out Merrin liking Cal without realizing they're in a relationship already LOL
Kata does tell Merrin that she’s very pretty.
I get that Bode wanted to keep Kata safe from the evils in the galaxy, but man what a lonely place for a child.
Yeah. So much for a “father” he is. He’s more of a monster.
@@ericle5366 no he was desperate. He was only left alive because the Empire had a use for him- you don’t think Vader or his band of actual monsters wouldn’t have ended him as soon as they found out what Denvik was up to? Worse they would’ve made Kata an Inquisitor too.
Tanalorr
I love this performance, even though it's just a nursery rhyme.
I think Kata has a lot of potential as a character, maybe even become a Jedi Knight. can't wait to see the next game! 😊
Kata will probably be cals padawan
@@GalexyHunterr Yeah, that an awesome concept for the next game! 😊
@@hplgaming325 maybe cal will go back to saw with his crew
@@GalexyHunterr I think he took a break from fighting for now, so we'll see what the crew does in the next game! 🤔
But won't becoming a Jedi go against what Bode wanted for his daughter? Because that would put a target on her back and have her be hunt down as opposed to just living a normal life
This make me so sad. Bode really didn’t have to betray Cal and the crew, he could have lived. But his fear got the best of him.
The downfall of many Jedi and Sith alike.
Fear leads to anger
Bode has really lost his mind. He's too dangerous to be kept alive.
@@youknowwhoiam2771 anger leads to hate
@@alexs6746 hate leads to suffering
That song and her performance of it is so incredibly beautiful, I get goosebumps every time I hear it.
Try to find endgame echoes about Bode and start to boost your emotional damage ...
Im so glad I played this game with subtitles off. Something about seeing the subtitles would've made that initial moment less chilling and eerie for me I think. Without them, there were a few seconds where I was unsure if there really was singing, or if it was Kata, or if it was just the Force or something or other.
When I heard this I thought this was an actual song and it’s now my fav Star Wars song
I wish things were different, but it weren't us who changed.
ah an Arthur Morgan quote.
i see you are a man of culture
There’s also another moment where bode sings/hums it on the ship when you stay on the ship I got a recording of it, I remember hearing bode sing being confused af and I thought it was just some random song that bode was singing that might of been something in Star Wars canon, it hits so differently now that I know what it means
It’s a crime this song isn’t on Spotify
I remember when I discovered the echo where they both sang. I was already hit by Bode singing it to his wife. But to hear Kata and Bode hit. There was no ambient music in the background. Just silence. Hearing this, in the abandoned temple of a greater age, with no hostiles to fight, truly felt…haunting
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING!
Her singing is so beautiful
"Oh tayala..won't you sing with me" THAT BROKE ME.
Is it just me... or is that Luke's Theme sung at a slow pace.
THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one that was thinking this.
What’s the theme called?
The best way to find it is to look up the Skywalker theme. Outside of that it shows up in many places. Like Binary Sunset, "The Force Theme" (blame Rey and Ben Kenobi), and the Star Wars Theme. It's really a motif that is played throughout the films that was used in the first 6 movies to represent a peaceful high point for the designated Skywalker. However, since Disney took over it's kind of been used for other things...
the girl who voices kata makes youtube videos "talks with taj" and she is precious
Bode knew he was about to die on Tanalorr.
The lullaby he sung along by his ship? The man is saying a final prayer before Cal arrives to kill him.
Kata was brought to Tanalorr because Bode knew his friends would keep her safe after he was gone.
It speaks to the quality of the art of this game that you and I have practically opposite opinions on what this is while both still being heartbroken.
I don't think Bode expected Cal to show up on Tanalorr, but knew it was a possibility. He isn't saying a prayer by his ship, to me it sounds like Ghost Star was a song Bode and his wife used to sing, and Kata picked up on it from them. That's why she sings it with the doll her mom gave her, and its why she comes to Bodes mind when he's singing the song alone.
Kata was brought to Tanalorr because Bode knew she'd be safe there. He just wanted her to be safe and alone with him. His original plan, though, seems to have been to convince Cal to move there in quiet peace with Merrin and maybe a few others. He didn't have a problem sharing Tanalorr w Cal & Crew; he had an issue with it being a Hidden Path base and attracting the Empire.
@@CryingCreeperMLG
Hit the nail on the head.
"We should go ahead first, scout it before the Hidden Path get there."
Yes thank you for posting this
Bro she’s gunna be a Jedi. Shit gave me chills
Yeah. She's gonna be Cal's Padawan in the next game.
Give us one last perfect game and then i want to see her singing this in live action when shes older.
This was one of the best parts of the game and truly a sense of sadness, haunting and emotion. If only more games had this type of story telling in them...😢
The memory fragment of them both singing hit me hard. 😭
God I'm glad I found a Ghost Star video that doesn't have an over dramatic, too loud "EpIc OrChEsTrSa CoVeR." Like bro it's a lullaby
It’s sounds like a song that would purify a corrupt kyber crystal.
I know why Bode betrayed everyone. His fear of lossing Kata made him paranoid of those who walked in the Hidden Path, thinking they would rat out Tanalorr to the Empire.
This is exactly the same fear that made Anakin into Vader. Parallel fates.
Bode is basically Anakin but more relatable and better written.
Anakin was already unstable and psychotic, and aided in a genocide and the creation of a fascist dictatorship for his wife, Bode killed just a few people for his daughter.
Of course, but just like Anakin he put thousands, if not millions of people at risk, for his own agenda and when he failed to see who his true family were, he lost everything. A real tradegy.
This game is great.
Just like Anakin betrayed and slaughtered all of the Jedi.
@@DarthDuck404 I disagree in better written, as even though he is full looking at all scenes probablly better as he has 0 corny dialogue, Anakin has more character progress and highlights. Anakin also was still relatable, even though not as relatable as Bode, he fell to his fears and anger.
Pippin's Song: Edge of Night
We could have protected everyone together Bode you didn’t have to die
That last one... whew. 😥
When this happened in game this was the most ominous thing ever
Bode was never the bad guy, he was just a father
If i have kids in the future i will be singing this as a lullaby
I would love to see Cal trained Kata to become a Jedi and seeing her being Cal’s Padawan.
This game knows exactly where to hit
This just proves that Bode was a tragic villian
Oh he IS a villain. He worse than the Second Sister.
This would make a fucking awesome Trance song
The song Kata is singing, it's a pretty one.
omg stupid ninjas chopping onions next to me
Fuckin A man, my man Charles turned against me 😢 I sad
The real Charles in RDR2 would never do that.
Hearing the last version with bode changing the song with his wife’s name he was seriously broken because everything the sith had done
Desperate man. That is the only word I can think of to describe Bode after playing this game. Desperate.
this game really had to go and break my heart for no reason, huh?
I really wanted there to be another option for the end of this game. Bode was doing his job. He was her father, and his job was to ensure her safety, at the cost of all else. Granted he took it a touch too far, but I really empathized with him. I wish he'd relented at the end, and realizes that his girl was safer with the rest, than on her own. That being said? Seeing a Dad willing to go to any length to protect his baby, with every ounce of follow through? Kudos man...
Edit: Kata also sings again, when you return to the ship for the first time after visiting her on Kohbo
Really needed alternate endings.
Kata is like an 18 year old inside a 9 year olds body
Who wrote this song? Does anyone know
This could just be me but what if when they say ghost star they are actually saying kata’s mom in a different name
Man Bode why dude 😭
Bode could have been a good jedi
Bode sounds so young
Screw you Bode...making me feel like the bad guy
I feel sad for Kata but it wasn’t hard to kill Bode for me. Liked him but he caused Cere and Cordova to die.
@JV Oh yeah, he was being a nasty SOAB that needed to be handled. But now I always see Kata and it's like, "HI, I killed yo papa".
Cere and Cordova’s death is on Bode.
@@ericle5366 I know. Look at my other reply. I just feel bad with the kid always being there 😞
And this is why jedi shouldnt have relationships
This game just straight up hurts, man
