After the empires fall was but I’m hoping Cal and Merrin somehow get a fulfilling happy ending maybe with some new Jedi and sisterhoods of their own but even outside of that hopefully they just have a happy life together.
Kata's singing is beautiful. I really hope she has a large role within the next chapter of the story. Cal and Merrin being her "parents" would be amazing to see.

Merrin developed relationship with Kata so quickly, it reminds me of Hunter and Omega. He quickly changed his mind from “Stay out of our squad.” to “You stuck with us for a long run.”
It’ll be nice that Cal promotes Kata to Jedi Knight after her long full years of being a Padawan. And Cal would be like “By the right of the Council. By the will of the Force. Kata Akuna. Rise, Jedi Knight.” He would be a great teacher to her. Cause it’s what Jaro and Cere wanted.
Earlier today I realized that since Kata's father was a Jedi, she very well may be force sensitive...I think it would be super awesome to see Cal and Merrin become her new "parents" while also teaching her the ways of the force, and maybe even magic as well.
That’d be awesome! She’d be a very unique force user with a jedi and night sister teaching her.
At the end of Survivor, Cere’s ghost tells Cal to “ guide her through the darkness” if she was implying Kata, then she probably is force sensitive and the 3rd game will set up Cal and Merrin to be her mentors

The only major difference between cal and bode is that after going into hiding cal was discovered by a former Jedi and lovable pilot, while bode was found by the empire. Cal learned to trust people, while bode was taught that everyone but himself and his family was a threat.
If Bode truly found peace with the force, I hope that he would be happy to see his daughter spared from such a fate.
Bode didn't trust the other Jedi in hiding because they could have been Imperial spies, same as him. It takes one to know one.
Bode was not found by the empire. He got himself into the empire in order to protect his daughter.

I really hope they use Kata’s song as the background in the trailer for the third game. Imagine how ominous it would be. Kata singing a soothing and relaxing song, hopefully with an orchestral cover on top of it, coupled with intense action scenes and dialogue. That would be the perfect trailer imo.
I found the force echo where she sings the full song and her dad joins in while i was just wandering the abandoned temple on tanalor right after the game ended and id been hit in the feels. It was both creepy and relaxing
Her song would work really well in cutscene of war, like the first episode of Arcane. It would also show the next game gets darker as it should be.

I love these interactions! They’re so sweet and wholesome and a little sad with that convo about Cere. And Merrin is so protective and motherly. She and Cal will be such good parents. They both have great convos with her. Greez is Kata’s pseudo uncle now. I’m glad we got these scenes. I’d love to see them train her as a force user.

I really was disappointed in bode, i understand his wanting to protect his daughter but he could have at least talked about it, he was planning on running away anyway so why not tell cal who he really was. I guess he just couldn’t trust, and it’s such a shame that Kata seemingly understands why her dad had to die, he didn’t listen, and she somehow is mature enough to accept that
I know right? I definitely felt like if Cal didn't give Bode all of those chances Kata would have resented him. But by being a better man and allowing her the opportunity to try redeeming her father, his new ward doesn't have reason to resent him.

@@7hepenguinMan well I knew he had to die the moment he was introduced lol I just figured it would have been against Dagan, I like it story wise because this was Cals introduction to how intoxicating the dark side can be. He doesn’t want to be evil and succumb to the darks side but killing Bode not only made him struggle physically as it was a tough fight, but mentally as well because he was killing one of the only surviving Jedi he knew, but also doing so on something as petty as who got to stay safe. It was a really nice touch though to see Cal still burned him along with Cere and Cordova, showing that even if he’s dead and didn’t deserve it he would still show him respect and take care of his daughter.
His daughter was still on the imperial base, so if bode were to show up with cal to get his daughter out... I do think she will die faster than they would be able to reach her. The only possible outcome I see is that if Bode were to become a double agent, and together with Cere and Cordova they would carefully leak intel, heck, even scenario with Cal going after Bode to the imperial base could have been the same-ish, just fake the deaths of Cere and Cordova to make him angry, take their lightsabers as "proof" and bring them to the officer while Cal goes after Bode. Just that after everyone left the base and Cal arrives at Tannalor he sees Cere and Cordova setting up the Hidden Path and working on a copy of the archives.

What’s even more heartbreaking is that Kata and Bode sung that song together. Bode also dedicated that to his dead wife. It’s almost as if you wanna sympathize with him. Because he was just trying to protect his family. The empire killed his wife. So in order to keep his identity a secret, he had to work under imperial intelligence. Him killing Cordova is no excuse tho. He could’ve just told Cal the truth. Cause apart of me thinks he was hesitant in betraying cal and the mantis crew. But he was so scared and didn’t know who to trust. Those are dark times. Bode’s story is kinda tragic.
I'm telling ya, when starwars gets a fallen Jedi story right, it hits HARD.

It is tragic, especially when you go back to the archives. There's a force echo there and when you experience it, Bode hesitates to sell out Cere and the rest for a moment: but it's just that, a moment. Then he calls the empire and brings them down on Cere and the rest.
I would sympathize with him, but the moment he killed Cordova and brought the empire to Cere, set Cal up to cause havoc on Nova Gerron and then spit in the face of Cal's offer of surrender TWICE IN A ROW. I wasn't fully on board.
That and he was on a steep decline to fall into the dark side, his obsession with trying to keep Kata safe and kill those who he believed would've compromised that safety was really feeding into that dark urge of his.
Kata said it herself, "Ever since mom died, he changed and not for the better." It was only a matter of time before his actions got himself killed.
You can see he was trying to do what was best for his family when his greatest fear came true and he started to lose them after being found but how his fear and anxiety kept escalating his paranoia made him give in further and further into the dark side. He started putting his own daughter in danger, hurting her and driving her away. At some point it went from a justification for bad actions to excuses for atrocities. He went out of his way to perform awful acts, far beyond what was necessary to protect his daughter. It was a proper arc for a fallen jedi.
I hate bode for what he did and he deserves it, but i still feel bad for him

You’d think seeing how the death of bode’s wife and the threat against his daughter’s safety pushed him to the dark side is a prime reason for cal to avoid relationships
I wonder if the reason that jedi who fall to the dark side because of attachments is because they don't properly know how to deal with the loss
Not allowing the forming of relationships is one of the many mistakes the Jedi Order did. the entire thing about the force is its connection to all living things. You cannot have policies which restrict an aspect of this. Plus you dont gain control by avoiding something, it makes for emotionally immature and stunted social interaction, which leads to them flying off the handle when learning how to deal with emotion and bonds or it creates someone without bonds or care for others.
TLDR. You dont master balance and stability in something by avoiding it, it just leaves you out of practice and on shaky emotional footing when encountering it.

That’s a objective danger to everyone near that force sensitive person and that can only me mitigated by teaching a person those emotional experiences before they ever trained with the force to a real extent
I think that’s more of a reason why Cal *should* pursue relationships. Just because Bode fell to the dark side completely from losing his doesn’t mean Cal will be the same way.
The idea that Jedi can’t have attachments platonic or romantic due them thinking it’s a weakness or that it leaves them vulnerable to the dark side has always been somewhat false.
Can it happen, absolutely Anakin and Bode are perfect examples of that. However Kanan Jarrus from Rebels is an example of it not being the case. Kanan had many attachments in the show both platonic, romantic and parental.
And while he did have his own fears and issues he had to work through, he was able to overcome those because of his family, the people he loved. His attachments made him stronger and shows that having attachments isn’t a weakness.

Alot of the mods are from Jedi Fallen Order plus alot of them are just assets from Battlefront 2 for example the Obi Wan robes. Unreal is pretty easy to mod as well unlike other games so there's a few mods out at the moment.

White it wasn't on-screen, I think it was apparent that Bode was a toxic parent to Kata since she's way more comfortable with Cal and Merrin despite having only just met them, enough so that she takes their side in the final battle
Its why she's so cool about her father dying cause as far as she's concerned, Bode died the same day her mother did

Well, if I'd saw this title before finishing the game I'd assumed that I was right that Bode had a deathflag over his head, but writers decided to go full psycho.
The one on Jedda where Cal and Merrin talk about talking Kata for a spammel ride was like listening to parents talk about taking their kid to a zoo.

She would be about the same age or 1 year younger than Luke and Leia. They were born soon after order 66, while Kata was born sometime after. Since Jedi: Survivor takes place 10 years after RoTS she would be around 9 or 10 years old.
@Gummy Grizzly Return of the Jedi takes place 13 years later right after Jedi: Survivor. So Cal will be 36, and Merrin will be like 35 in the third game. Cause in the second game, Cal is 23 right now and Merrin is 22.
