A quarter of a million dollars of amplification… only to be quashed by a downstream bunch of capacitors, resistors and inductors - known in the domestic audio world as a passive crossover network.
Buy the highest, studio master quality DSP you can muster, multiple stereo dacs, multiple monoblock amplifiers and connect your super-duper amplifiers directly to the drive units (as God intended).
active is over rated IMO. I have built my own speakers and have a very fancy DEQX and I prefer the way passive sounds with a great amplifier. Something is lost with digital crossovers
You're audio is to low
too
@@n.lyndley.9889 Thanks, I am bad with spelling xx
Gryphon amps are nicer and sound better.
Why not just buy active speakers?
Jonny Bingham think your missing the point entirely.... whether you believe there points is entirely up you i can say I've every heard it.
Yep - my thoughts exactly.
The main problem is audiophiles associate active with studio monitor speakers with class D amps stuffed inside - which is not a good comparison.
No matter how expensive the equipment, the dynamics and timing are damped by the heinous, passive crossover network.
It looks like the type of central heating boiler one might find in a Shoreditch apartment? Unappealing aesthetics - very Naim. It may get purchased by a Premier league player who will WiFi his cell phone to it, of no interest to anyone else.
True... Playing some 320Kbps MP3 trough iPhone airplay
😅😂
What brand are the speakers?
TAD
