- Join the shorthanded concrete crew as we pour a big midwest driveway. This one was stressful not only because we were shorthanded but rain was on the way. I was definitely feeling the pressure on this one. I know all the other concrete guys out there have been though the same thing. Share your stories down in the comments. Maybe someday I will have a little story time about some of the nightmare concrete jobs I have been through. Being a concrete contractor can be stressful at times but overall I enjoy it.
I have had many employees throughout the years. I have a lot of stories just like many of you but we won't get into that right now. Just enjoy the video, don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment.

The guy asking all those questions was more stressful then being short handed with rain on the way lol
He was actually a friend, I would never disrespect a stranger like that. It was all in good fun. He is a super smart guy and owns a good size machine shop. He is the type of guy that just wants to literally know everything.

I love playing 20 questions with customer. Especially when it’s 20 questions every time they come out
I know right, especially when you're under pressure. He actually is an awesome guy, he just likes to learn as much as he can. He really wasn't bothering me and I didn't even realize how many questions he was asking me until I started editing. I know he's going to laugh when he watches it!

I used to own a delivery service and customers would ask “ … hey, do you have a dolly?” 🤨 and I would politely reply “ … yep, sure do!”

Concrete doesn’t care if you’re a man short, concrete doesn’t care if 2 people did a no call no show, concrete doesn’t care if you have a customer constantly asking questions as it’s getting ready to snap. It’s moments like these where legends are made.. whatever it takes attitude is awesome sometimes no one cares you just gotta work harder.

@@sekaikage few thousand USD on the line, plus reputation which can gather more work or have people selecting a different contractor because of a mishap. Yeah losing concrete stinks but we don’t see the ripple effect it has potentially losing major a few jobs but hey what’s 20-50 k amongst friends.

My dad was a batch man for 32yrs here in Ohio. And would always take me as a kid and drive out to check on the cement trucks and guys at the jobs afterwards. hard ass work and a true skill 👍🏻.

Had an inspector call off work once because rain was coming. Checked radar and it wasn’t even over the state but he said it was “too close” I still poured f*** that guy

Nice job. The drivers running the shoots saves u. Here in Missouri its rear dump trucks and u have to have a shoot guy.
I remember the rear discharge way back in the day. Thankfully we haven't seen rear discharge trucks for many years here in Wisconsin. I'm glad we had good drivers for that day!

The boss said, "when you got an order, you need to get it done." If he could not get it done, it is not a big deal because he is in charge for this job.
Once you put a order in someone has to pay for that concrete.
You called it like a true pro!! I’m a contractor too, And all understand your factors were major ingredients we all think about before calling it...

Watching your videos makes me miss working with contractors. Was a helper with a construction company and I fell in love with it.
I've got my hands into many different trades, been on hundreds of job sites... it never ceases to amaze me the questions customers ask. Now working from my PC, its still a lot of questions.

That guy with the sandals and questions lol. I just had my driveway completely torn out and poured, I tried to stay out of their way and only bs with them when they were waiting for something. It’s awesome when it’s done, it’s been a month and I still walk around looking at it.
I give you "A" for this job. How mush you charge for this job?
If I remember correctly in was 13ish.
Take the pay out off the two no shows and treat the ones to lunch and beers after work. They sure deserved it.
