I always liked the slick top, too! This looks like a base model except for the wire wheel covers and leather seating. I like the smaller rear back window they did compared to the 1985. At first, I thought it was a mary kay pink Cadillac. I always liked the frost beige!

I own an '85 base coupe in brown w/gold package and landau top, it was the first year for the downsized Deville. It has the 4.1 L w/39,567 original miles. No leaks or issues fortunately. I am the 2nd owner purchased in Feb 2018 from the original owner's grandson, it was never driven in sleet/snow and always garaged. It has zero rust. I have had a lot of repairs done despite the low miles. A new timing chain w/all steel gears and a water pump & hoses and thermostat and coolant sensor including a full flush and refill. Had also a new alternator, amd the AC dryer & compressor including fittings and converted to the R134. Also replaced including new level ride shocks and hood struts, and front brake lines w/full brake system flush and stabilizer bushings. Complete tune up including the ignition module. A new battery. And replaced also the vacuum pump for the power brake assist/climate control system, which was a challenge to find to the tune of $200 + tax and shipping from CA. I got the last new one on the shelve because most scrap yards have them but couldn't guarantee it would be better than the original that was in the car. Stupid location under the left front fender towards the front bumper. I still have issues with the engine hesitating or stalling after it is driven for one hour, especially when the outside temps are in the 80s and up. It's weird because my mechanic cannot diagnose the problem.

There's not many of these mid 80s Cadillac's around because they had transmission issues. My aunt had a 1986. The transmission went out just after the warranty ended. My uncle told them if they didn't fix it for free he'd never buy another car from them. They fixed it. I had a 1985 Riviera. It had transmission.problems too.

I like how some of these cars that Cadillac made look like cars from the early 1900s

This car was a steal at $2,995! I like to drive old luxury cars. They blow ANY new car out of the water, in terms of best bang for your buck. And new cars are just plain ugly. I love the simple AM FM radio in this car. Not a stupid touch screen.

Say what you will about these small body Cadillacs, I don't care. These were the Caddys of my youth - small body, but every bit as comfy and roomy as their predecessors. They'll never be collector cars, but that doesn't dissuade me one bit from loving them. At the time, they were a contemporary take on 4-door family luxury motoring, and you saw them *everywhere* .

My Mom had a 1988 American Cup Edition. It was a dream to drive and ride in. She finally had a car that treated her like a Lady.
