I fell in love with those Cadillac especially the 1988 model since I watched the movie twins back in the 80s. I will get one one day.

My Parents had the same model. The most comfortable Car i ever rode in . The seats were like a Lazy Boy Chair.

That crank gave me so much nostalgia. I had one of these as my first cars.

I always liked these cars anyway, but the movie "Twins" will forever engrain this Caddy into my heart. HP rating was low but 245lb/ft of torque got these moving nicely. My father had a 1990 Seville with the upgraded 180hp 4.5 and it would roast the tires.

I love the 1988 model years of the Deville/Fleetwoods. This car looks like it was highly neglected; a very sorry state for such a beautifully designed car. The digital dash was a fairly rare option for the base Devilles. It came standard on the Fleetwoods. The cassette was an option, not standard as stated. The base standard radio was just the AM/FM stereo. The leather was an option as well as were the wire wheel covers. The 4.5 V8 was 150 times better than the weak 4.1 that came before it. That's why the 1988 model year was the last and best year to purchase.

Im thinking of throwing some paint on the hood and roof even with the mileage just because of what the car is.

@@harryrez I would repaint the car myself. If im not mistaken that might even be the rare extra cost glamour paint. In 1988 the optional glamour paint only came in two colors; medium blue and Antelope. I believe this car is the Antelope beige. Wouldn't surprise me because it's such a heavily optioned Deville. Check the paint code number listed on the spare tire cover. There is a sticker on all GM cars detailing the exterior paint codes, interior codes and RPO options located on the spare tire cover in the trunk. Will be a 3 or 4 digit code for the exterior paint starting with WA.

The car is light anelope metallic from what I can see

@@harryrez always double check with the RPO tag just to be sure. I'm pretty sure you're right but i never second guess as GM offered similar color choices on cars during the 1980's and 1990's. Your car is turning out to be a very rare and special Deville. I would take the seats out, steam clean the entire interior, fix the paint, and the car would look gorgeous. The extra cost glamour Antelope paint makes that car much more desirable by Cadillac lovers.

@Vince V The Fleetwood is a drop longer. The Fleetwood Brougham is an entirely different car. If you want an airbag. Then I’d just say look for a 1990. The Cadillacs before 1990 do not have them and that was the first year they were offered.

I'm about to buy an '85 Sedan DeVile for $200. I'm in love with that car, but the only major problem is the fact that its window is stuck down, so it's been sitting outside for about four years with the interior exposed to everything. Thankfully it's not that bad though.

All it's missing is that beautiful signature Cadillac seatbelt chime, as well as the "Level Ride" light located in the Information Center to the right. Probably needs a new air compressor and new hoses in order for the system to work again.

AS the chime no longer works on this Cadillac, can you put in a scary buzzer from a 1977-78 Cadillac Coupe Devile?
