That period from the 50's to the 70's was one of the shortest periods to have such a massive amount of social and cultural change. The music industry sure as hell fixed that, didn't they.
Definitely the band with the greatest impact on rock n roll as an emtertainment medium. Definitely had the greatest influence. People still talk about the Beatles' song structure being the standard: under 3 mins, defined verse and chorus structure, etc. I have my own favorites [i like the Beatles, ofc] - but each one of those favorites owes a debt to the Beatles in one way or another.
Thank you for visiting the original people that were there at the time before the world got into the Beatles, Paul was the one who had to get john lennon to make the first rock and roll from Mersey beat john loved it with his mate Paul
Well WEll, How did I miss this? An exceptional and unique collection of early snippits, of Beatle history. Which included previously never (to me ) seen , show business close friends, filling in important gaps too. I watch it again, and share with all I know.
Love to see some of the awful and not so bad guitars we used, I’ve still got my Futurama 3 and my Immaculate Hofner Verithin Bass I’m soooo pleased to have them still.
@22:23 that's actually the Blackpool Tower, about 40 miles (as the crow flies) further north, as the New Brighton Tower was demolished after the First World War (i.e. almost 40 years before The Beatles) and only the ballroom remained.
I grew up near by them all liverpool 9 but younger & still have that scouse twang after leaving the pool aged 11, living out my days here thailand ey ! lovely jubbley weather YEH YEH YEH 😜
I don't think comparing Lennon and McCartney as the Beethoven and Mozart of their generation is any kind of hyperbole. The music might have arrived on a different vehicle, and a much smaller performing group, but it was nonetheless great.
I understand why he spoke that comment he was trying to say that the beetles were the same type of genius something I can understand why he would think that and likely a lot of people would agree I don't agree I think the beetles did some amazing things and were one of the greatest rock bands but I still think they're are other rock bands who were just as great as the Beatles and in my opinion a lot better musicians bands like lec zeppelin the genius of beethoven is far byound zeppelin are the Beatles I learned some of his stuff on piano and as a musician who can play beethoven the beatle and led zeppelin as great as zeppelin and the beetles are they just don't come close to the musicianship and mastery of the great composers beethoven is seriously incredible learning anything from him takes massive skill time and effort always a challenge and when you play his stuff your truly blown away by the genius of the way he placed his notes together its seriously incredible and there is a massive difference from a beatle composition and beethoven I love the beetles I do think they did some genius stuff but trying to compare any rock band to something like beethoven is rather insane in my mind if you take the time to learn what those great composers did with the 12 notes you will understand why there considered genius so I strongly disagree with the comparison
There is a clip from Les Paul were Paul Mc. told that John and him was before the Bealtles make as a Duo music and startet the Show with a Les Paul Song
Thank God... That I got to experience, this whole explosion of new music! Which continued until the 70s - 80s. Since then it has mostly become rubbish !! Older and proud. Peace, Love and last but not least. RESPECT !!
The Beatles and their music brought COLOR to what then seemed like a black and white world ! The Beatles secretary Freda Kelly is one of the few ppl that REALLY knew them on a day to day basis from start to finish ! She could have profited many times over by talking out of school and selling all the info she knew BUT unlike ALL these NO count ankle biters that made crap up for a dollar to her loyalty and her soul were and are more important to her !!
The ships coming back with records is not true…the haircuts came from Germany, and the black gear is correct that came from the French holiday. Rings played with them late in the evening after a show now and again, and he liked their playing
Great documentary but unfortunately there's very little Beatles music. That's quite ridiculous for a Beatles doc. I guess they have cheaped out and didn't want to pay royalties. That's too bad, because it would have made it much better.
After the Beatles showed the Stones the way, they were playing jazz when they started, plus the melodies came from Richards not Jagger…so get yer facts right dude
You must say that the Beatles had charisma and talent but a little Aussie singer would be number one Frank Field got to number one first but the Beatles had the passion to make it work so it was a landslide for them to be able to get to the top of music that ment money to the music industry
the first time I heard the Beatles was on Dec 28th 1963 on 1050 CHUM in Toronto , it was she loves you, and I thought it was Neal Sadaka singing.
Yes - and before the FM stations kicked in
They didn't shake the world they changed the world, It's all about the magic of life because of the intelligence of the fab four

Really enjoyed this documentary showcasing the greatest rock-n-roll band ever. I learned so much from it about these beloved lads from Liverpool.

I agree but for what it's worth watching the history of rock and rock will give you a better understanding

Four lads who shook ME!!!❤
Great documentary. Totally different from videos and interviews from the often we see and heard.

Thank you for the wonderful video post. I feel that it is the most skillfully explained video I have ever seen.
Fab video... every Beatle fan needs to see this

I think it was a bit tongue in cheek, but more a reference to their output.

If you listen to the music you can get a idea of how the Beatles got it

Aye . There's one or two dodgy bits here . The story never gets old though .
If only john thought about it he would have been better off to go to new Zealand

I feel sorry for Peter best john picked on his mate for some reason
Mick Jagger wS a genius

Great documentary.
