When she acceptance speech. She praised Michael Caine said should. Be cut in half. My great person. Humble . She has been in a lot of movies. And television. Carol Burnett. Downton.
Dame Maggie Smith was a consummate artist. I can't think of any of her performances that disappointed. Rest in peace dear genius. Thank you for sharing your gift.
RIP, Maggie, she didn’t win the Oscar in the film, but of course she won it for a part in the film and by the way I remember being given caviar with vodka when I was in Saint Petersburg, the vodka was wonderful but caviar truly truly is an acquired taste?
I'm going to have to watch this movie again. My friends and I saw it at the drive-in when we were about 18 (1980 or so), and despite the amazing cast, we thought it was a terrible movie. 😂 for the next decade, it was our measuring stick to grade bad movies against. It's clearly not a movie made for drunk kids at a drive-in 😂. So, 40 years later, I'm in a place where I can actually enjoy it.
RIP Dame Maggie. You were magnificent!!
I didn't know that she had recently died.
Now I'm a bit bummed out.

Both of them were marvellous in this. I've never forgotten the film, purely because of them.
True! They were the best part of that whole fiasco of a film.
I couldn’t agree more! 🙂

Maggie Smith, 1934-2024. Thank you for all the great memories.
Theres always one
@@franzherflek4116 I'll say.
These two characters are the “lift-up,” of the film. I’m glad Smith won the Best Supporting Actress for this film.
And then she actually won an Oscar for this performance....
How ironic, eh? 🙂
Yeah we know 😩😩😩😩😩stating the obvious
Two superb professionals making it look so easy.
The scene where she's at the Oscar red carpet was actually filmed during the ceremony. Very clever.
Brilliant. Thank you Dame Maggie ❤ you blessed us . Bless you❤
This was the first time that I'd ever heard of Maggie Smith I saw this movie when I was in the 7th grade.
Two of cinema's best of the best, absolutely brilliant together.
Absolutely brilliant. They are great together, like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
I recently saw "Plaza Suite" on Broadway and loved it. I wish more of Neil Simon's best would find their way onto the Great White Way.

Il viso di Maggie..impagabile♥️
is he eating caviar?oh dame Maggie sounded mature all her life. I miss her already
They had the best condiments. Caviar champagne free.
Both Michael Caine & Maggie Smith were born in 1934. RIP Dame Maggie Smith
Michael was born in 33 actually.

Not all downtown and Harry Potter !
She looked like Tilda Swinton!
That’s LOT of caviar….which he’s ruining the taste of by using a metal spoon!
I myself would never eat caviar!! 😦
Wooden spoon
@@kevinc4632 That’s worse. A mother-of-pearl spoon is the classic way to eat it.
Probably got the farts later...
Wasn’t there a rumor this was based on a real couple?
🎉🎉 beautiful
The world is gloomier without her.
