Sis Bridget when I came to Nigeria last year before the pandemic, I stayed in a hotel with My Hubby because of security reasons. I love my Mother and Father in law but My Hubby knew I was at risk staying in the village. Everything you are saying is so true. My best friend Sister and her church members were gathered up by the American Embassy to fly out immediately because of danger lurking around them after they were exposed. 🇺🇸 I love Nigeria. It's a country of beautiful people and culture. I pray one day soon it will be free of all these troubles soon. 🇺🇸
Thanks Obodo Oyibo TV. The last time I went home, I entered a bus from Lagos to the East. Mmmm wahala... the bus driver hated me. He has never seen me before o. Just my appearance, he said I work in Oil Company. He said I am eating Nigeria oil money. I was just praying not to get hurt. Nigerians will definitely know if you fall in from Obodo Oyibo. No be JuJu be that !!!
Your actually right. Spent 15 years in the UK but because I was an Army brat I can speak Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. Immediately I came out of the airport I wrapped my wrappa on top my trouser and found my way to my hotel. But the mistake I made was not taking my tag off, on my way to the East at that Benin underpass the police kept us for two hours. The driver took me aside and told me it's because of my tag. I quickly paid them and destroyed the tag. Fast forward now I have my ankara dress and slippers, I go to one of the local bus terminals and travel home. Easy no stress.
Nigeria! Such a beautiful country with so much controversy.. my husband couldnt sleep till I got back safely to the United states..meanwhile I was busy walking around taking pictures of everything 😄.. only for me to get a cautionary text from the United states embassy I was like what is happening.😮..regardless I love Nigeria and am not even Nigerian my step father is 😄..I just hope the country gets better ..We pray for a better Africa and a better Nigeria because if one African country succeeds All Africans succeed .
Your friend is correct! No matter how you disguise dem still know. But me I’ve been lying low for a long time. I become hard core Naija once I get off the plane. No need to be forming. You need to be careful in Naija. Speaking phonetics has been a no no for years for me! Is better oh.
You’re right, very right sister... home is sweet no place like home May God let Nigeria 🇳🇬 be great again, that security, light, water and good roads is very important.....
Sister B, I believe that file would have appeared if you had “greased someone’s palms”…. Don’t be surprised that someone else has collected that gratuity on your behalf…🤦🏾♀️😬 I like that “ loose the British accent” my children are already learning the 9ja accent from all the “Mark Angel comedy” 😂 It can be so hard to “blend in” when you have kids with you sha. Even those who have never left 9ja before fit do accent more than those who live abroad 😏
I agree with you Abuja and Lagos are very safe ! The problem is when you travel down to the village especially in the East . You will start fearing your own village people .It is so sad!
Thank you 4 ur advice. I really really love 9ja although I’m not a Nigerian My 9jA husband is so afraid of going home. I know we must take security precautions in Nigeria but he’s totally frightened of going home.
File Disappeared, someone has claimed the gratuity as well. Same in other countries. Taxes are paid but IRS staff can manipulate it & "adjust" it to suit the payee's pocket so that 10% can be paid. My sister Man must live!! I fell off my chair with laughter about the removal of luggage tags. Very True Thanks for drawing attention to it
Those people that will be updating their wakabout (aka movements) on social media (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook etc) they are just inviting *monitoring spirits* (in human form) into their affairs. Even when Nigeria was still safe in the 90's and early 2000's we never tell folks living in our hometowns (aka villages) that we are coming to visit nor when we are living. *We just show up SURPRISE SURPRISE* 🤣🤣🤣& everyone got used to it. For some unknown 🤷🏽♀️reasons, our 👨👩👧 family has always been mysterious about giving out information of our movements. In fact ehhhh we blame 🇳🇬Nollywood (which we love dearly 💚) with all due respect 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣after all Na just 🤷🏽♀️*common sense* 👯
I am enjoying your tips sis B. I can't afford to travel with my little kids this time, the securityis not smiling in Nigeria. Let me just respect myself and hold my side in the UK and wanna wanna myself 😁😁😁😁. I wish you safe trip back home to your family sis 😘😘😘

many years ago. I went with 52 church members to Nigeria for conference. before Ieft I prayed that evil person will not see me and I won't see them. I carried most of my ankara and adire out fit. during my stay my accent changed to local accent and my skin darkened.
Thanks for sharing these safety tips with us sister Briggie. I never understand the need for diasporan people to show off whenever they travel to Nigeria. It was fun watching you and your friend. I laughed all the video.
All you have said is true God help us in Nigeria but the rest of us are here though not relocating anywhere yet. Nigeria is sweet when you have a good source of income.
I want to visit Nigeria with my daughter and stay in a village house,I see in the movies. It is possible to rent a house and a car for one month,to stay in Nigeria village to eat Nigerian food.It is a good idea ,I will be safe there.I love Nigerian people.
Aunty B, you’re right oooooo . A friend of my late husband went home and he announce about his going to Nigeria so tey at the end of the day, they robbed him and shot him on the leg. He came back diaspora to spend millions on hospital and rehabilitation to be able to walk again.
Firstly, both of you look so gorgeous 😁& Aunty B this your Friday attire 👗 is really beautiful☺️. When Aunty B begins to put on her ready 👓 glasses 9:10 just know you're in to receive wisdom loaded with common sense 🙌🏾 Everything both of you have said is so true, we hope people gather this tips. And it's also true that Nigerians (living in the country) can tell from your skin that you just came from abroad no matter how low profiled you're dressed or speak pidgin English , we know this because it was done to us too. Na so we dey deny ehhhh, but dem say "Na lie, with this kind of skin freshness no be Nigeria 🇳🇬 you dey live in" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for the airport tips too, we never knew removing luggage tags is advised. 👏🏽 we appreciate both of you for sharing this vital undiluted, honest information with us☺️
Thank you So so much for the information, is not cheap traveling home from diaspora, you spend 500£ for all the COVID-19 test. All what you said is truth, enjoy yourself and stay safe in Nigeria.
Sis Bridget you are absolutely right. Nigerians need to speak up about what is happening in Nigeria. I am married to a Amazing Nigerian Hubby and it's hard living there and people are afraid to speak up. But this is the only way a change for the people will happen. How long is this going to go on ? Please our Nigerian family, you have to let the World know. Thank you Sis Bridget for the information on coming home to Nigeria. ❤🇺🇸
People coming to social media that are Nigerians spoiling their country name everywhere in the world running out of their country, can't they come back to Nigeria to fight government if they really want better things for Nigeria, why are they living their country spoiling the name of their country that's the reason when they heard you are from Nigeria they will not like to associate with you. I don't blame them is how you people spoiling the name of your country on social media.
Thank you so much for this video. These advices do not only apply to Nigeria alone but also to other countries. I'm a diasporan Congolese man from the DRC and when I go to Kinshasa I follow exactly some of what you mentioned. I've to say however that apart from the Eastern and North Eastern regions of our country we don't face that level of insecurity you guys have in Nigeria, but still criminality is real. By the way, you and your friend really look beautiful.
You guys are very WONDERFUL all you said is true...I was home during xmas with my 2 girls as soon as we get to Lagos na igbo no English anymore all tags removed passport IN A HIDEOUT...short nika short jewelry one not blinkblink 😁👍👍👍 sneakers changed all went well no MASK tooo in some places... Thank you my sister for this video, continue to enlighten a of people about what is going on we need to know the truth.👍💕💕❤️
I totally agree that people need to speak the truth about the negative things that are happening in their countries. If people keep on smiling they'll keep on suffering. Please would someone post the name of the song at the beginning of the video.
Most of it goes to the North, even the alcohol taxes, because they have so many LGAs in the North. They hate alcohol, but they don't mind spending the taxes collected on it. That is why, even Nigerians that are against the country dissolving are calling for restructuring. With restructuring, each state should be able to spend their tax monies on their residents and infrastructure.
Great tips. Better safe than sorry. Travel only if absolutely important. My friend's father received armed robbers because it was leaked she was going home. Don't find out the hard way.
This is ridiculous, I complain all the time that the Jamaican government is not doing anything with the taxes that Jamaicans pay but at least there is proper electricity and mediocre (very) healthcare, but there is poverty and disenfranchisement left and right, up and down!... I cannot believe in a country as big as Nigeria there is no consistent electricity....nonsense!
Thank you soo much for the Tips. While in Nigeria try and attend Koinonia Sunday Service, Abuja. That is if you are in Abuja. It starts 5 pm. A dream for many diasporans who listen to Apostle Joshua Selman preachings!

It’s very interesting to hear this from someone British born and travel to Nigeria regular since I was 19 without my parents. I’ve not really needed to change my accent, not tell people I’ve arrived and take tags off or change my cloths. If you internalise that something is lurking (danger) you’ll find it or it will find you.
