  • Why street photography is so important & why it means so much to me! Ft Leica Q2
    F/8 Issue 4: bit.ly/3Ilk1wc Thanks for your support! :-)
In this video, we talk about my feelings for the genre of street photography, why it's so important, and why all photographers should try it - even have it as a big part of their photography repertoire!
In this video, i also talk about my Leica Q2 learning experience, as well as some of the mistakes i'm making along the way. Be it Fujifilm, Leica, Sony, canon or Nikon camera, it's hugely important to master your camera settings and be confident!
I hope you enjoy the video!
    Thanks for the continued support

I can only agree with you. It's good that they came to these insights at such a young age.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, mate. Not only do I admire your photography, but I love watching your interactions with the people that you photograph.

Big Shirl! Such a lovely Tenby character Gareth! So important to have those moments! Glad the family managed to get hold of you! I had a similar moment from doing Street portraits in Tenby! Captured a mums daughter a few years back who sadly died around COVID time and had the opportunity to give away a framed photo to her mum. A very emotional moment! Keep up the great work and videos mate!

Really interesting and enjoyable, mate. Since we have similar gear, good to know I’m not completely out of whack when it comes to setup! Plus I picked up the f8 bargain bundle just now. Looks really good 🙂👍

Always voided doing local photography. Might have given me a little nudge to go down my local mundane town centre in Swansea.

Street photography is so important! in years to come the most important pictures are the real scenes that we all see in the streets, Nice one Gareth you spoke a lot of sense in this video...Thank you!

    Great thoughts!

Nice one Gareth! I've massively fallen out of the street photography habit, but everything you've said in this video is relevant. Reminds me why I bloody love street. Better get back out there

I have found in 9 years of landscape photography that not only the improvement in the images, but your editing skills also evolve over time. I look back at old images and think really. I shoot landscapes now, more with prime lenses and I feel it has improved my composition skills no end. Set yourself a challenge to set your zoom lens, if no prime, to 1 focal length.

Cracking video mate, I'm in awe how you can switch between the different genres of street and seem to nail it every time..(I think I need another 1to1 with you lol)

Great video. I've been trying a bit more street photography myself when I get chance and enjoying the journey. a long way to go, but good fun. I met a chap the other day having asked to take his photo when stood on a barge and thought that would make an interesting photo. We had a ten minute chat as he was on holiday from Texas. Would never had spoken if not wanting to take some street photos.

  • @silverfoils
