Don't get me wrong, the Wii version of "Sonic Unleashed" is surprisingly solid and in my opinion is a MASSIVE improvement over the 360/PS3 versions in terms of having level design that better fits the boost controls, sun/moon medal hunting being mission based while still offering a good challenge, werehog stages that don't go on for 8 to 10 minutes instead of nearly an hour, and overall I feel the Wii version is much more accessible to newcomers while still offering a challenge for newcomers. While I still prefer "Sonic Colors", I can still say the Wii version of "Sonic Unleashed" is very enjoyable. Of course, the Wii/PS2 version is a completely different game than the 360/PS3 version. The Wii and PS2 would chug along with frames in the single digits of the HD version's levels were used in the DR version, even without the ND version's more complex graphics TL;DR: lower console lower is to blame for less detailed level design
The PS2 and Wii versions of this game had to be massively cut down to A, fit on the media of both consoles and B, be capable of running on those consoles. From the shorter and less dense Day stages to the lower resolution textures and other graphical sacrifices as well as the complete lack of village roaming, the games are vastly different. But interestingly, these versions have an odd addition that the PS3/Xbox 360 versions didn't get. The ability to explore the temples. Which is possibly one of the best aspects of the game. Also, with how short some of the Day stages are in these versions, the extreme difference in stage length once you swap over to Night is jarring and makes it feel out of place.
I know, Some PS2 Games Are Capatible Playing Widescreen On PS2 Console It Self, Have Some PS2 Games That Can Play Widescreen On My PS2 Console (Like: Scooby Doo! First Frights, Scooby Doo! & The Spooky Swamp, The Simpsons Games & Jak & Daxter) That Is All The Games All That Can Play Widescreen On The PS2 Console
The Wii was vastly underpowered compared to the HD consoles and couldn't possibly handle the same game so Sega got Dimps to create their own version of Sonic Unleashed for the console. The PS2 also received the same version the Wii got although it looks even worse because the PS2 was a weaker system.
Well xbox 360 and ps3 is the best version, considering the fact that both xbox 360/ps3 and ps2/wii were made by different developers, but for me, the ps2 is my favorite version. btw are you talking about the Original xbox?
bro ps2 was made on march 4, 2000 while the wii was made on november 19, 2006. so stop judging ps2, during the time, ps2 was roughly 300 mhz and wii was around like 750 mhz and where did you get the "ads" part? if there was an ad on it, kids would start to go crazy waiting for their sonic game to load up, which in my opinion, would make sales go really low. i mean, i was crazy when i saw an ad for the first time, thinking that was my ACTUAL game.
If I had to pick between the 2 I’d rather play ps2, yeah sure the wii version has better graphics blah blah blah, so what? I don’t care, the wii version has motion controls. I had a wii and a Wii U but I don’t really like motion controls. Yeah sure I could play with a GameCube controller, but it’s probably gonna feel weird playing it because I’m guessing unleashed wii wasn’t made with GameCube controller support in mind. So I’d rather play with ps2.
It was made with gamecube controller support in mind. The wiimote controls were clearly just tacked on because most wii owners didn’t have a gamecube or classic controller.
@@sosman64 Sonic Adventure 1/2 are better on Dreamcast. Let's face. Starting from the polygons of the characters to the water of the levels. Are the polygons of the DX portals slightly better? Yes, but they don't fit at all into the surrounding world of that game, which has remained in the 99 'Dreamcast style. Many people criticize this game but forget that it was one of the first 128-bit platforms, and it came out in 99 ', not in 2003, it's normal to have aged a lot.
This is my opinion on what version is better in order of least to greatest. Wii version is the worst its really sucks when you compare it to the others, when you want to boost you got to shake the remote forward fast so its like your master baiting in order to boost. The ps2 version is sort of the same as the Wii but with a better resolution, graphics and, instead of jack off to boost you just press a button. The Ps3 is even better because of that next gen hardware, the resolution, graphics, more content like the hub worlds, stages in Mazuri and a whole new place Empire city which is basically New York in the U.S., and instead of the boost being made of short bars its one continuous bar so you don't have to go hrgha every second plus its a lot faster. The Xbox 360 is the best its basically the same as the Ps3 with 3D models and textures but a little bit sharper looking because the 360 is a little more powerful.
But the graphics are the same in the PS2 and Wii versions... Well, sort of. The Wii is more powerful. Also, you do know you can play with the GameCube controller, right?
You sir just don't like the Wii lol. Bc as people have stated....you do know you can use the gamecube controller right? Lol just bc you like to do a masturbation motion doesn't mean it's the only way of playing the game. The graphics, resolution , and everything you said is worse in the Wii version....is actually just a flat out lie. Everyone of those things are WAAAAAYYYY better on the Wii. Now as for the 360/ps3 version they were essentially a different game. Different levels and all. A little research goes far kid. And let's say your playing it on a wii u and don't have gamecube support? Well this game supports the Wii classic controller pro. Boom. A modern controller in it. And there are these things called fight pads(really neat you should look em up sometime kid) and they are gamecube controllers that plug into the Wii remote and register as classic controller pros. So there you go. You no longer have to imagine your masturbating.

On their respective hardware (aka no emulation) and disks yes, PS2 takes longer to load
I'm a prpud Wii supporter here. I still haven't 100% the game because in missing 1 SUN MEDAL
PS2 model reminds me heavily of heroes
Best sound in The world
RRRRRRUUUAAAGH
Why ps2 sonic quills are down when he run kinda like sonic forces
How made the spindash
i literally had NO idea unleashed was on the PS2
Now you know
chiliastic let's just say it was better
Is it me or the PS2 version looks more 2D then the wii version
I don't understand why they ported the game for PS2? The trending Play Station at the time was PS3!!
Yeah but alot of people had a ps2 at that time
The PS2 was still selling in the millions per year in 2008.
The PS2 was selling far better than the PS3 at the time. The PS3 didn't really gain its footing until 2009.
i dont care which version i play, i still enjoyed the game
Wtf, back in the day I thought the graphics were amazing.
It is just me or the levels of the Wii version of Unleashed take longer to get a S rank thân Forces =)))
Wii Wins!
I played sonic unleashed on the Xbox 360 and the levels and deigne looked nothing like this
Of course, the Wii/PS2 version is a completely different game than the 360/PS3 version. The Wii and PS2 would chug along with frames in the single digits of the HD version's levels were used in the DR version, even without the ND version's more complex graphics
TL;DR: lower console lower is to blame for less detailed level design
sonic on wii looks so good but in ps2 too good
Describing water as cute... Ok...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I died on this level soo many times
You mean Adabat, or Shamar?
Bro it's easy for me
The PS2 and Wii versions of this game had to be massively cut down to A, fit on the media of both consoles and B, be capable of running on those consoles.
4:05 sonic against a thing
#WiiandPs3forlife.
I'd get the ps2 version but I dont have the console
They shoulda released this version on Xbox Original just like how NBA Live 07 was different versions as well #NoCap
U Do Know That U Can Play Your PS2 Games In Widescreen On The PS2 Console, But I prefer the Wii version, better graphics
Yeah, I know. But some games for PS2, like Unleashed doesn't have built in widescreen option, only by using cheat code.
And trust me, this cheat code doesn't work properly, especially in Chun Nan Day. Only visually looks good.
And U Must Go To System Configurations Them Go To Sreen Setting Then U Must Put It (16:9) Then Some Games Are Compatible Playing Widescreen On PS2
I like sonic unleashed in Wii
For me doesn't matters graphics and Models or textures, for this two versions are practically the same ;)
The only difference (aside from control scheme, obviously) is the shaders, everything else is the exact same.
Oh crap Im getting ps3 version on a 320gb
Me get the unleashed ps2
Ps2 had a better sonic model In my opinon, other then that wii wins
For me Wii version wins but I hate Motion controls so PS2 wins in the control department but other than that Wii version wins
@@nerymuniz6427 The Wii version supports the GameCube and Classic controller
What about 360 vs ps3
I'll think about it.
There's not much difference aside from the PS3 version running at 60 fps (although with an more unstable framerate)
I first played the wii version then saw the ps2(had to bleach my eyes) then the horrible ps3 version then the amazing 360
Ps3 has better lighting than xbox 360 so you're wrong about ps3
@@questslayerkelvin3809 *cough* *cough* PS3 framedrops
Wii is just sonic unleashed but with hd graphics
WRRRRRRHAAAAAAAAAAAA
I am surprised that Sonic Unleashed on Wii is pretty different.. why is that?
Because Dimps made Sonic Unwiished aka the developer of Sonic Rush and Sonic Team the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 versions
The Wii has better hardware than the PS2
The Wii was vastly underpowered compared to the HD consoles and couldn't possibly handle the same game so Sega got Dimps to create their own version of Sonic Unleashed for the console. The PS2 also received the same version the Wii got although it looks even worse because the PS2 was a weaker system.
1:32
It's easier to control in the ps2 version
How so?
Wii
Looks like the wii version makes you a better player btw LMAO
Is the Xbox the best version?
Well xbox 360 and ps3 is the best version, considering the fact that both xbox 360/ps3 and ps2/wii were made by different developers, but for me, the ps2 is my favorite version.
btw are you talking about the Original xbox?
PS2 rules!!!!!
Josh Seese nope PS3!!!
Ps2 is better than the Wii in 3d running
Os dois sao iguais , as fases, só muda os gráficos
They didn’t even try with the ps2 version.
are you kidding? its one of the best looking ps2 games I have ever seen
@@vgamissos5983 Kingdom Hearts, God of War, and Shadow of the Collusis have better graphics than ps2 Unleashed m
Wii: Looks like a solid game
Ps2: Looks like a mobile game with a ton of ads
yeah I wish mobile games had great graphics like that
bro ps2 was made on march 4, 2000 while the wii was made on november 19, 2006. so stop judging ps2, during the time, ps2 was roughly 300 mhz and wii was around like 750 mhz and where did you get the "ads" part? if there was an ad on it, kids would start to go crazy waiting for their sonic game to load up, which in my opinion, would make sales go really low. i mean, i was crazy when i saw an ad for the first time, thinking that was my ACTUAL game.
oh and the resolution wasn't so small like a mobile screen so stop plz
dmytro_super RBLX MLG. Yes someone that understands.
dmytro_super RBLX MLG who was originally going to be released in 2003 but good point
Ale sonic unleashed ma pierwszy poziom apotos
I prefer the ps2 model. The wii looks too bright
The enemy models in the PS2 version come straight from sa1 it's not even funny
Yeah, its not funny coz Sonic Adventure 1 is WEIRD Sonic Adventure DX is better than sa1
Nightmare Foxy Animations just a note, a lot of people would disagree with that
As for me, ill play any version of adventure
@@sosman64 Sonic Adventure 1/2 are better on Dreamcast.
Let's face.
Starting from the polygons of the characters to the water of the levels.
Are the polygons of the DX portals slightly better?
Yes, but they don't fit at all into the surrounding world of that game, which has remained in the 99 'Dreamcast style.
Many people criticize this game but forget that it was one of the first 128-bit platforms, and it came out in 99 ', not in 2003, it's normal to have aged a lot.
@@theutubepower1243 ya
sorry i realized that I BETTER GET AN DREAMCAST EMULATOR OR I AM SAD FOREVER
Si alguien puede entender mi idioma os debo decir que yo juge la version de ps2 pero la de wii tiene mas calidad
Ps2 was made in 2001 while Wii was made in like 2006
@Juani oh thank you my b
@Juani I said ps2
PS2 came out in 1999 search on google
Ps2 was released on October 26th 2000
Sonic looks too glossy in wii
I know right!
Yes. But the Xbox version is beautiful
VGAmissos its true but tbh I like the ps2 version more it's something about having a way different port that I like
Ase un sorteo por favor de la play 2 con el sonic. Uleahsd si queres
The Xbox 360 is the best its basically the same as the Ps3 with 3D models and textures but a little bit sharper looking because the 360 is a little more powerful.
the wii version have better graphics and resolution and the ps3/xbox360 version are 90% diferrent than the wii/ps2 version
But the graphics are the same in the PS2 and Wii versions... Well, sort of. The Wii is more powerful. Also, you do know you can play with the GameCube controller, right?
the Wii version have the graphics a little bit better
WiliestBeret520 I'm currently playing Unleashed for the first time on my Wii and the only control set up I'm using is the Pro Controller
It feels like a dream
