@@kathyreed2202 I hadn’t either. Then when my friend and I were talking at a soccer practice and we were talking about favorite treats and she said orca I was sold. So glad to help you out enjoy. God bless
I use my recipe from my Grandma. I grind up the nuts in a blender and grind up 2 giant Hershey bars. First get your 13x 9 pan out spoon half of the nuts (thin) layer and then half of the ground choc bars on top of the nuts. When your toffee is ready pour it in the pan over the nuts and choc. Then immediately put the rest of the choc (first) and the rest of the nuts. I use a spoon to sprinkle it all over. The toffee being so hot will melt it right away. Let it set until cool. I use a butter knife to just break into rugged pieces. No mess with this method. Then put into containers. Put into fridge until ready to serve or give out as gifts.
This sound like a great idea. I will give it a try next time I make it and if it works easy I might put it on the channel if that's ok with you. Have a great Christmas and happy new year. God bless
Oh, thank you so much. David and I try to put as much info as we can into our videos to help people learn. I love our community here on youtube. God bless
Great video production - love the basics of watching the mix and not focusing on a thermometer, gets the educational job done. You guys are real pros! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much. If I'm being honest I still mess one up a year. But I think with any candy making you can even with a thermometer. God bless thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing this recipe! I look forward to trying it! I have so many happy memories of eating Almond Roca with my Dad around the holidays. Blessings, Janet
Oh, I hope they were all good memories. I love these too. So fast and so much better than the store bought one. If you make, then let me know how you like them. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. God bless.
"...Sometimes I'll let it cool like about 12 to 24 hours...😲" That reaction was priceless!!😆 Thanks for the laughs and amazing recipe!😊😋🍫🌰 Happy Holidays to you! 🎄💖
Ya there is no way I can't start digging in. I made a batch a few days ago. I only got. Couple pieces. I had to leave for a few hours. Lol I need to make it and hide some. Lol. God bless thanks for watching Merry Christmas
Handling each piece seems tedious and too time consuming though, couldn’t you melt chocolate in a larger surface pan in micro then turn the toffee into chocolate and turn over the mass of toffee then proceed to pkg
I mentioned putting the chocolate chips on top. When it was still hot and then cutting it from there. I think anyway is good as long as it works for you and your family. This was just fun to do with a friend. Thank you so much for watching. God bless
Hi thanks for checking out her Roca. I Andrea is such an amazing person. Where do you know her from. I met her in Stanwood. Have a great week God bless.
Not. There is enough butter in the candy to not need it. I do still put it on something that can be removed so it I don't want to cut it I can pull it out and brake it. God bless
You can use any nut you want. I just prefer pecan and walnut. I don't like almond lol. Let me know how you like these. God bless thank you for watching
We are definitely getting more videos ready. We had some stuff that came up that required a pause for a moment but we have recently started filming again and will be bring more content shortly. God bless
So, a Hershey Chocolate bar is just that chocolate and nut. Almond Roca is a toffee, caramel flavored crisp, that is dipped in chocolate then in nuts. I hope you try my Roca recipe and enjoy it.
I'M 68 & HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS RECIPE OFFERED BEFORE NEVER! I'VE HAD A MILLION COOK BOOKS BEFORE TOO! THANKS❤😊

Love the video and the only thing I do not have today is coconut oil, I have Crisco and other oils, what to do?
You could use those oils too. God bless thank you for watching
Why do you need the oil
It is only used to help melt the chocolate, to help keep it from burning a keep it liquified longer. God bless
🌻
Oh I love a good sunflower. Especially this time of year when it's so cold. God blss
Is it possible to put some of the nuts, very finely chopped, into the butter/sugar just before pouring it out?
I'm sure you can, just seconds before you pour it out. I have never tried it. But it sounds less mess lol. Let me know if you try it.
God bless
Rachel
@@cookingonthefarm Thank you
Ok I have a ton of unsalted butter so could I simply add a half of tablespoon of salt or is that still a big no?!
I don't know. I would assume it would work. I just follow her recipe. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out. God bless thanks for watching
I love Andrea, she is my dearest friend!

Do you toast the nuts before coating the squares?
you can if you want. this last time i made it i didnt toast then i used raw walnut. have a great week. God bless
Is it possible to double this recipe? Will it still set up properly?
I believe I have done it once and it did. I hope it works for you. God bless
Is the pan greases, or no?
Not. There is enough butter in the candy to not need it. I do still put it on something that can be removed so it I don't want to cut it I can pull it out and brake it. God bless

Basically all your making is like a Hershey chocolate bar with almonds or nut of your choice.
So, a Hershey Chocolate bar is just that chocolate and nut. Almond Roca is a toffee, caramel flavored crisp, that is dipped in chocolate then in nuts. I hope you try my Roca recipe and enjoy it.
