Obviously, it is tough to know what the legends like Jones, Hogan, Nelson, and Sneed would think, but what we do know is today’s equipment is far different than that of what they used to shoot low scores and win championships. Likewise, the course conditions are better manicured compared to yesteryear. Technology has certainly come a long way, but even with all the equipment and course improvements, the game is still hard many people who play this game!
What does this mean? It is all about learning the proper technique. Too much emphasis is put into equipment changes when what golfers really need is a plan to improve. Taking lessons, practicing, taking more lessons, and practicing more is the way to improve. Once you have the fundamentals down, that is when you reap the benefits of modern-day technology.
This video covers it all. Sit back (maybe even pour yourself a beverage … scotch in our case!) and listen to this Fireside Chat and enjoy the back and forth between these two nationally recognized golf instructors and you will pick up all sorts of knowledge that will change your perception of the game!
