- Let me teach you a Dutch recipe today! We will be making Kruidnoten! Kruidnoten will be sold around this time of the year in The Netherlands! It’s a little cookie that’s eaten around and during the dutch holiday called Sinterklaas that is celebrated on December 5th every year!
You can compare those little cookies with gingersnaps! They’re fun to make together with your family and also really delicious! Try these little delicious cookies - Kruidnoten! Even if you don’t celebrate Sinterklaas, they’re really fun to make with your kids and are also really delicious!
Wil je dit jaar je eigen kruidnoten gaan maken? Kijk dan deze video! Ze zijn niet moeilijk om te maken. Heb je thuis speculaaskruiden? Dan is het nog makkelijker! In plaats van je eigen kruiden te maken kan je speculaaskruiden gebruiken! Ook al vier je geen sinterklaas, Kruidnoten zijn altijd lekker en leuk om te maken met je kinderen!

Sinterklaasintocht refers to the arrival of Sinterklaas around the middle of November in his steam boat from Spain to the Netherlands. Around that time we can also buy Kruidnoten. Sinterklaas is celebrated by giving presents to kids that behave well. As a little kid, we would put our shoe with a carrot or some hay inside for the horse of Sinterklaas and a list of the presents we wanted. The next morning the carrot or hay will be gone, replaced with a present!

Before I say anything about the recipe, let me gush about the white little fur ball cutie, who graced all of us with the cameo at the end of the video. With it's cute little pawing, it absolutely absolutely stole the show and my heart as well😍 God bless your dog. Now coming back to the recipe, it was wonderful. I m a little less aquanited with Dutch cusine. So this cookie came as a sweet surprise. The best thing about this cookie is that it's very balanced sweet. It's definitely sweet but not over sweet. And you made a lot of them.😀 They have a wonderful golden baked colour and looks very crunchy. I really liked the final presentation, along with the little tip of packing it for the kids. This is a kind of recipe, I would definitely like to try myself. I will look forward to your other recipe s as well. The little tit bit, you gave about the festival associated with the cookies was very interesting to read.
