After looking at RC boats for weeks, I have concluded that this is the boat I want.
It doesn't have self righting, it's easy to leak and sink, and quickly run outta battery. what's the point of a fast boat when it can't go fast enough

@@alcopone104 It dosen't leak, in that case u have got a faulty one. Battery last for a good amount of time. They're not even included. So it really depends on what u have to start with. Fast enough depends on where u put the batteries, there's even some kind of foilage u can use under the boat to make it run to your own liking. So your response only fit you tbh

Cats are very sensitive to battery placement. It generally means that they need to go forward to iron out the porpoising, if after that the Hull runs a little wet then alter the prop angle as in raising it until the Hull runs nicely dry.

Adjust propellers attack angle and shift around the weight and you'll be set. Its best practice on the FEs to tape the deck with either boat tape or hockey tape. If she goes over (blow over) it's violent, you'll be glad you've tape it down.

Cool vid guys! If I can offer some advice, work on set up. The bouncing is called porpoising and it’s usually a sign that your prop is too deep in the water. Anyways, thanks for the upload 😊

Nice video all around. Observations: 1) Nate seemed to enjoy trying to get Abby wet. 2) Abby "should" have tried to get Nat wet. 3) Abby is the safety officer making sure Nat doesn't baptize his transmitter. I'll have to go watch the "rest of the 1st Boat Week of 2022. I've often thought about trying RC boats...but as usually I would trend toward large scale navel ships (with rotating turrets, etc)...me and my history passion. Thanks again.

New subscriber here ! Ive watched LOADS of Blackjack videos but I always seem to Gravitate back too yours ! Im taking my Blackjack 42 out for her Madien Run 2morrow ! Greased up the Prop Shaft (that was a first and cut myself in the process🤫) and charged up my Spektrum 4s 5000mah 100c Batteries. Should be a great time ! Im running it at the same lake my father took me with my OG Blackjack 26 over a decade ago ! Hes since now passed so it will be a nice tribute 🥰😊 I digress. Anyways ! Cheers mate ! Thanks for the awesome vids and wish me luck i have NO blowovers or any freak accidents requiring me to take a plunge to get my boat ! 🤣🤣🤣 God Bless man !

I’ve gotta get better at trimming up our boats. One day I feel like I’ve got it, then the next day its hopping again. Is this common, and based on wave choppiness you think?
@@TheRcSaylors Yeah different conditions would definitely make it perform different.
@@TheRcSaylors actually calm water is “stickier” and therefore makes things worse. Cats are designed for choppy water. You shouldn’t need to adjust for different conditions if you’ve got your setup rite to begin with

You need to make strut adjustments or move the battery’s forward to stop it from bouncing. They need tuning even right out of the box.
Rule one for running a boat put your transmitter on a lanyard.

Hi RcSaylors, I haven't watched this video yet, but an idea, which I'd like to share with you. ProBoat came out with the Horizon Harbor 30-Inch Tug Boat RTR as a recovery boat to save other models. But when I checked out the description I understood, that the tug boat has integrated ballast boxes and the hatches can be easily sealed with tape. The very last hatch doesn't seem to be a problem at all, because it's so high above the deck. The big hatch can be sealed with an easily homemade lid and then also be sealed with tape. In this configuration, the harbor tug boat should be storm proof. If you would test the tug boat on a very windy, or even stormy day, then you could check out if I'm right and you could also get some great video shots of the model, plowing through big waves. Since the tug boat is not yet available on the Horizon Hobby homepage in Europe, I don't want to buy it, but otherwise I would. I have the model Baltimore made storm proof and it's my favorite model in the worst weather conditions. I'm coming to the lake, while other rc model fans are going home.
You've also tested some time ago a terrible top heavy work boat, which was capable of shooting water. This model is still available here for about 200 €. In my eyes, it's far too expensive. And now just a theory about the price of both boat models: If your daughter would now like to have a tug boat to play with, then the toy variant would be gone in a couple of years, because of the limited options of maintenance. If you would buy her the ProBoat harbor tug boat, then this more expensive model could be with usual maintenance still around, when your daughter has her own children. Many model makers are keeping their models for decades and the harbor tug boat is a good candidate for a long life.

Love boat week. I think this boat warrants a gps run. Also like an airplane you should move the batteries a little bit more forward so it doesn’t have a tendency to flip from getting too much air under the hull. I’ve seen real full size race boats of a similar design flip. It’s spectacular and horrifying at the same time.⚓️

i have a few rc boats i used to run a lot years ago... Only thing about these big boats is batteries are big and pretty costly...but they are great fun until you have to swim after them... this has happened to me many times... but setting up a rescue boat is a great idea...

Based on some other reviewers, I’d say try moving the batteries fwd as much as you can. Should help with the porpoising and flipping. You could also adjust the angle of attack on the prop strut. Anyway, very cool boat, not something I can afford, but cool nonetheless.

You might want to re position your batteries a bit forward and/or adjust your trim tabs as the front is riding a tad high. Surprised you haven't put a GPS in it to record top speed. A GPS also allows you to see the results of any mods you have made to improve speed - diff. props, etc. I have a Traxxas M41 Widebody with 6s and have clocked 53.2 MPH. Good video, thanks. 😃👍

Looks like the plane is trimmed up too high trim it down well keep the front from flip up object is to get the boat level with the water
IDK about rc boats but with real boats you still want the front end to be out of the water even by 10mm. Less friction=more speed on plane

Yes iv got two of them and thay are 8s capable i don't know why he is running 6s only thing I don't like is thay are plastic hull's i prefer fibreglass or carbon fiber.
