Some people say that these lessons have been learned and do not need to be repeated (a similar sentiment issued to subjects such as feminism, [Shakespeare's Sister: Fiona Shaw] or homosexuality [The Hope Speech: Sir Ian McKellen]). But in fact they serve as a reminder to us of the mistakes we, not just as a race or community, but as an entire human civilisation, have made in the past.
