The hard top on your JL can be a great place to store all the gear you need for your adventure that won't fit inside the Jeep. With the Mopar rack system, you can carry bikes, kayaks, snowboards, and everything in between. All the mounts are available separately, so you can buy only the ones you need.

I purchased the Mopar Roof Rack for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport hardtop (Freedom 3-part roof) to carry one and sometimes two kayaks. I installed it and attached two pairs of Thule Hull-a-Port kayak holders. Since this was the first time using the Thules with my Jeep I wanted to make sure the hardware was compatible. It was then that I read "Not recommended for water sports, canoe or paddle board carriers." (This disclaimer is a direct quote from the Quadratec site). It doesn't say this in the instructions, nor did my Jeep dealer say they were not compatible. I also called Mopar but they said to deal with Jeep dealer and get a refund. Not wanting to take any chances I had to leave the kayaks home rather than take them on our lake trip. So I was surprised, and maybe encouraged (?) to see that there are kayak carriers compatible with the Mopar Roof Rack. So my question is, in spite of the warnings that the Mopar Removable Roof Rack Kit not be used for kayaks, can they be used. Thanks
What is the load weight for this system on a Wrangler JL?
Will it work on the drip rails of a soft top JL??
I’m aware that this system is for JL but will this fit on a JK? Or do you have other systems that fit similar to this? I just love the Jeep basket

Great video, Rob. I was excited to watch your latest video for the Jeep Mopar roof rack and related carrier accessories. Unfortunately I don't have any immediate plans to acquire a kayak, canoe, or mountain bike. What I currently do have is Mopar two piece removable roof rack. I'm still waiting for creative solutions on how to mount my recently purchased Krazy Beaver shovel and axe. I was hoping that your video would've addressed this problem. Does Mopar offer any mounting solutions to handle this situation of mounting a shovel and axe to this type of roof rack? I'm anxiously looking forward to your response. Thank you and continue to push out Jeep JL videos.
You want the Dominion Off-road hi-lift mount + shovel attachmanet. It's completely stealth and hides inside, mine has my hi-lift jack, crazy beaver shovel AND Fiskers axe all mounted inside. Can an awning be attached to the mopar rails?
Will this roof system fit an adult bike on the factory hard top of a Gladiator? If not, does the truck bed based system fit a bike with the hard top on? Based on the pics from Mopar, it appears the tires will peak into rear seat and require hard top to be off. Thanks! Great video.
You should be able to mount a bike to the rack on the hardtop. The tray of the bike carrier will most likely hang over the freedom panels and off ther rear of the hardtop. If you were to use the bed rack, you could always slide it slightly to the rear, again, hanging the rear portion of the rack over the back of the truck bed if necessary.
Jeep there is a quality locking hood latch that doesn't scratch fenders after market & needs to b on silver package & up.
jeep ppl like turning every bolt they can & picking every prt but I /God am selling ppl car to the masses, jeep ppl already bought.
Masses ppl want finer stuff & that some1 has already figured out what is best & they want all the bells & whistle they can get straight new from factory. So when I say we r going to b buying best stuff after market we can get usa made in bulk pricing & make r bucks on the higher packages I am serious. Sell more & at high or highest poss price while delivering best value option in market bc God is on consumers side of the trade at least till hve 3 million Bronze, silver & gold sold after dialing them in perfect.
I have these racks and the basket. They work great, however I did loose one of the plastic covers that hide the locking screws on the rack. They have JEEP on them and are impossible to replace apparently. Seems you have to buy a whole new rack to get one.
Anyone have an extra or found mine on the side of the road? Ha

The basket looks ok but I don’t see a use for it unless you have 4 passengers traveling long distances. Whenever I see these on Jeeps it’s usually people posing 🙄
I just bought my jeep. The jeep dealer told me in his opinion after selling x amount of jeeps, 95% of the rubicons they sell never see a trail and the added accessories are sold as a looks package…. Most baskets I see on any vehicle nowadays is for posing… imo
@@Adventure_Always lol yup! I live in Florida and the only time my Rubicon goes off-road is on the sand, I’ve owned mine for almost 2.5 years and that’s happened twice 😂however.. I have the OEM Jeep crossbars and they do get a lot of use with my Yakima top water rod box and reel deal.

I installed the jeep cross bars this morning which ultimately led me to this video. The cross bars are a must have for me. It’ll be interesting see if they will accommodate my 13’ kayak… ✌🏻
