It's kind of funny what you said about their music being for the whole world and about how they could have been bigger than they were, because you are actually right about both points. Got7 has always been way more popular internationally than in Korea which obviously has its pros and cons. In the end they are still a kpop group so not being as popular in Korea definitely tagged them with some disadvantages in terms of promotions and stuff. But because of their international fanbase they did very well in terms of album sales, tours etc. If you include all their Japanese comebacks and sub-units and solo stuff their discography is absolutely massive. My playlist on spotify of just my FAVOURITE Got7 songs is 7 1/2 hours long.

Ooh, Jus2 really is a great subunit. They’re the ones that take care of the fans that love the sensual, more sexy type music while JJP is this subunit for those of us who love the more ballad-style, nostalgic music yk?? Either way, when it comes to got7, solo, group or subunit, you’re getting really good music!! Especially if it’s where the members themselves are writing/producing, those guys know what works for them as artists!

Jus2 is personally my fav duo, there is also JJP (JayB and Jinyoung) wich is kind of more balad type for Verse2 album but its so AMAZING too.

The whole album is stunning. They wrote all the songs on the album. You should watch the video for the song Long Black. JB loves RNB! Jus2 is incredible! I am sure you know they are all doing their solo thing now and doing beautifully! JB and Yugyeom both have SoundClouds. JB also has a company that he is part of called Offshore. Lots more music there. All of Got7 writes and composes and also produces and co-produces their own music. Again thanks for reacting to Got7 both group and Sub-units and solos.

This was a great combination. Their voices compliment each other perfectly. I loved the fact that they edited the mv to look like one continuous shot. Also a cool fact is that Yugyeom is the subunit leader. 😂 Maybe the only time he can tell JayB what to do.
I don't know if it'll be your style but a great video to check out (could be on your own time 😊) is the MV for Miracle. It's was based on a fan who was ill. She was suppose to go to their fan sign because her dream was to meet her favourite idols but she passed away before. Her sister tweeted about it and the story reached Mark. So they based the MV on her. It was pretty sweet. The song is slow and alot more vocal oriented but very special meaning.
Oh yes, oh yes. Got7 has the talent and drive to rule the world. And that's not taking away the awesome groups that are finding and living their successes. They have been mismanaged by JYPE for an extremely long time. Their last 2 comeback were short and wasnt promoted properly, to the point where the members were promoting their album themselves more than official accounts. Any videos you see with most mistreated groups, Got7 are on all the lists. They werent able to produce their own music almost always without JYP influence on them. The company even blocked Jackson from performing and promoting his solo career in Korea while he was at the company. That's why us Aghases were extremely happy when they left the company.
And the fact at their own the copyright to their own music is icing on the cake! I believe JayB studied the laws or something like that to take charge in getting their own music before they left. The rumor was that the company wanted to renew 5 of the members contacts, leaving out 2 members so all the boys decided to leave together. Not sure how true this was but hopefully someone can confirm and reply to me!
Also they are one of the funniest groups out there, pure crackheads, all of them. And the relationship they have with the fandom is special and unique and honest. They all seem so much happier being able to do make their own music and live freely as they want to as solo artists until they are ready to make music as Got7 again.

Love your reactions. Got7 has such beautiful R&B vibes. I only discovered them last year and have been playing catch up ever since. I love their vocal tones. Jus2 album is just so sensual. Their voices blend beautifully together. Long black is my fav track.

Loved the reaction! Jus2 is a great subunit, their whole album is amazing and you will sure love it if you didn't give it a try yet.
You should also listen to Love. by Def. (Jay B).
Also JJ Project - the duo that actually started it all - Jay B and Jinyoung harmonise so well together and all of their songs sound not only great but the songs from their album Verse 2 have quite a meaningful lyrics and Jay B often says that it's a favourite album of his. They also have two solo songs on that album - "The day" and "Fade away" and both of them are amazing. Not to mention their first album - from 2012 - Bounce, which was actually very different from their usual style but still fun and very consistent in its style, even though it had only 3 songs they are sure worth a listen. Plus Jay B and Jinyoung so young were simply just adorable.
Jackson's Lost & Found album is a also a must - I absolutely love "I don't have it" - the instruments in the background at the end are such a treat!
Also the variety shows - like "when mom is asleep" or even better - its next part - "when boss is asleep". Couldn't stop laughing while watching. And "Hard Carry" the show. But the song Hard Carry itself is also a bop.
Just as the whole albums "spinning top" and "dye" and "call my name" - Jay B in Crash and Burn live performances is really such a crime against humanity. And Run Away is one of my favourite songs, while 1 degree keeps playing in my head all the time...

The other sub unit is JJ project with Jinyoung and Jay B, they have 2 album, their debut was with "bounce" back on 2012, 2 years before got7 debut, then on 2017 the sub unit back again with verse 2 album, with title track Tomorrow, Today, verse2 album is a masterpiece 👌

Yeah their musics definitely seems more internationally inclined. They were very familiar sounding to me!
GOT7, JJ Project, and JUS2 are very well-known and popular internationally, and the members are well-respected within the music industry as talented and hardworking yet humble people. That said, they could’ve been much more popular. Besides GOT7’s sound being very diverse and often being too unique to be labelled as mainstream K-pop (thus making it difficult for other artists to cover their songs), the main reason is that they were grossly mismanaged by JYPE/Division 2. They were neglected and given very little creative freedom, especially in the early years. The members have mentioned how their self-written songs were shot down by the company as "not GOT7’s colour", and that JYPE denied them opportunities to expand and explore. There have long been issues of JYPE not producing enough physical albums to meet fans’ demands, which then leads to lower album sales. The list goes on and on. That’s why we were so happy when they left JYPE, even if it meant fewer promotions or even disbandment - and we had faith that their strong brotherhood would keep them together. And they did! Our best leader Jay B worked his butt off to make it happen, and now they have the distinct title of being the only group to ever have all members leave a Big 3 company at once, achieve success as soloists, and comeback as a full group while retaining full copyrights and trademarks of their group and subunit names. There's no doubt that we stan the right group.
I definitely feel like Got7 could have been HUGEEEEEEEE even though they were and are superstars already but they had the talent and charisma to really occupy that space as one of the top 2-3 groups of this generation of kpop

You guessed right near the end of the video… There’s a lot of evidence on how their previous agency tried to sabotage them for the past few years. It was very upsetting for the fans seeing this and trying to do something but nothing was enough, so when they left jype this year it was sad but at the same time was the best thing we could ask for, especially now that we can see how 2021 was amazing for all 7 of them. And since they left together and promised to stay forever as 7 too, we can trust that they’ll comeback as the legendary GOT7 (hopefully soon lol) and be even happier now that they’re free!

So glad you checked out Jus2! Yugyeom is the leader of this subunit, and choreographer for this song. As for the styling, I heard they picked their own wardrobe. Long Black has a live performance video that’s very good. Jus2 also did an OST song for Jinyoung’s first lead role in He is Psychometric. There’s a lot out there; don’t get too overwhelmed!

I watched your MONSTAX reactions and I didnt know you also love JAYB (JUS2/GOT7). I'm a monbebe (MONSTAX fans) but I also super love JAYB. Glad you react to JUS2. You should react to JJ Project, it's another unit with JAYB too, he's that talented, he created all of it. (Fun fact : MONSTAX Shownu was supposed to debut with JAYB and Jinyoung, Shownu was a JYP trainee).

Their album was critically acclaimed by the quality and avant guarded style it had, in Kpop in general it didn’t win because Kpop is more teen oriented and that was never GOT7 target but literally any musician and rnb listener usually really love their work.
They definitely cater to a more mature sound & I love it!!

In Got7 all of their sub-units fit just like they fit when they're all together. The only props I give to that company is that they had the smarts to put all these young men together in a group. They are all ambitious and hungry and love their craft.
One unit you will definitely vibe with is ATK (AmeriThaiKong) Mark, Bam and Jackson.
Their Nightmare is a beast.

True, they could've been bigger but JYP Ent didn't put enough money into their promotions and projects even though they were having world tours full booked, they legit carried the whole company one year financially speaking (forgot what year it was probably 2017 or 2018 idk).
Idk it's unlucky cause musical talent and passion is there sadly people made sure they'd never make it higher somehow...
I was a big bts fan but after finding them out, I feel like they could've been as big as BlackPink or BTS.
I recommend you to listen to JayB's soundcloud bangers bro, discovered them in 2019 still playing them on repeat ever since.
They definitely could have been just as big. I think Got7/BTS/Exo are the most talented boy groups I have heard sooo far in terms of being globally recognized.
