One thing about Yugyeom is that he’s always been R&B like Jay B it’s their specialty. His SoundCloud songs showcase that as well.
Yugyeom is in a khh and k r&b company. Yugyeom and Jay B are actually under the same company but different labels owned by the same person Jay Park.
That’s definitely probably why I love their voices on hooks and choruses!!
I've noticed that when k-artists move left (the ones that actually have the flavor) aren't looked upon as favored k-music. What you just listened to from Yugyeom was not K-pop. He's just singing straight R&B in Korean. JayB released a song before BTW, Switch It Up, and it was on par with I Want U Around.
K TV stations even barred Switch It Up from being played on their shows for it's lyrical content.

That’s funny you mentioned that yugyeom reminded you of breezy as yugyeom said like dozen of times to be influenced by his career he was super super fan for a while and both even used to follow each other on insta. So I believe it’s not random his style has some inspiration to it, I’d also feel some Bryson tiller in him too like these 2 mixed up with Yugyeom’s own sound and i honestly so here for it. His whole EP was super good.
GOT7 as a whole always been super rnb which uncommon in the Kpop industry and amongst the members both Jayb and yugyeom always been the one that were the most rnb influenced, Jayb mentions a lot 90s artists as his references like boys 2 men, D Angelo, musiq soulchild etc, boys 2 men even shoot him out last year on IG which probably made him super super happy.
As for the views going solos and going more into the k rnb scene is very different than going to kpop. Kpop attracts a much younger audience and cater more towards a commercial type of sound which mostly all the other genres aren’t Khip hop and rnb included as more of the lyrics are explicit and stuff, usually khip hop/rnb gets way less promotions because, the artist comes from way smaller labels and very often their songs won’t get radio played because of the Lyrics. I personally prefer khip hop rnb where i found the artists way more creatively free even if it means they’re smaller.
Really suggest you to dive in both Jayb and Yugyeom’s songs they released from own EPs but also the members solos. Jackson, Mark, youngjae bam bam and Jinyoung; all the members write, produces and compose and even choreographes so I really hope you’ll dive more into them both as a group but also their solo work because both are equally good.
My comment is so long already but Jay Park is also a *must* react too, he one of the most influential solo artist out there and going strong since a whole decade.
Just so you know too, jay park is in the khip hop/ rnb scene and *not* kpop. Lil fyi jay park also raps which is super cool, dude is super versatile.

He's been DJ on a Korean radio show every Wednesday at midnight since September, and the show is called "Jay B-R&B". Both on the show and in his musical suggestions on other occasion, he has shown that interest and introduced us to music by current and former artists. Both Jay B and Yugyeom's albums are very good and if you want to listen you won't regret it.

They all have the LIT both solo and group but different in taste and style. All Yugyeom, BamBam, JAY B and Youngjae, specially BamBam is my favorite both Ribbon, Pandora. But I suggest JAY B with Fame and AM PM for you. For Jackson his solo always be fantastic so many but some comment already suggested. Thank you for reaction. I got into GOT7 coz their global style, I love their music language.

Khiphop artist don’t really go on music shows both Jayb & Yugyeom only did 1 week of music show performances and it was purely as a gift to fans. Music shows can be super restrictive. Everything from song lyrics to tattoos can get you banned from promoting so a lot of khiphop artist choose to not go instead of being forced to sugarcoat their releases to fit broadcast standards. Jayb’s prerelease Switch It Up was banned from broadcast because of its lyrics and Yugyeoms MV was banned for violence. Yugyeom also has a ton of tattoos so he has to be covered up and Jayb has piercings he’s not allowed to wear

Both of their albums are great and I feel like they are totally your vibe. My favorite son from POV:U (Yugyeom's album) is All about u and from SOMO:FUME (Jay B's album) can't really choose one, but Count On Me is so close for sure. They have done amazing as solo artists this year!!
